Installation

Install the Journey Ai AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
Choose "Install from GitHub".
Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.

Enable Journey Ai in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Journey Ai is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

Loaded only when it is needed
The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.
Switch models mid-chat
Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

When to use

Dispatched by journey when current_stage: ai.
Directly via /butterbase-skills:journey-ai.
Skipped (annotated (n/a)) if the plan has no AI section.

Preflight

If docs/butterbase/03-preflight.md is missing, older than 24 hours, or 00-state.md has app_id: null, invoke butterbase-skills:journey-preflight first. Wait for it to return successfully before proceeding.

docs/butterbase/00-state.md — for app_id.

Procedure

Refresh docs. Call butterbase_docs with topic: "ai". For BYOK and model lists, also WebFetch https://docs.butterbase.ai/ai. Skip if cache is fresh.
Read the AI section. Print it back: "About to configure AI: default model=<m>, BYOK=<yes/no>. Proceed?". Wait for yes.
Invoke butterbase-skills:ai via the Skill tool with the AI plan and app_id. The wrapped skill calls manage_ai action: update_config (and per-provider key updates if BYOK).
Smoke: call manage_ai action: chat with a tiny prompt ("say ok") to confirm the gateway responds.
Append one line to docs/butterbase/04-build-log.md: <ISO timestamp> ai manage_ai ok
Tick - [x] ai in 00-state.md, set current_stage: to the next unchecked stage.
Return to journey orchestrator (or ask "Continue to the next stage? (yes/no)").
