Write a complete 8-part Claude Motion prompt (The bar, Format, The one rule, Look, Motion, Never, Before you finish, The scene) for one short looping motion graphic, in your own brand. Takes your brand (a website screenshot, a logo, hex codes, or nothing for the Apple-style default) and one moment you want to show, in plain words. Use when someone says "write me a Motion prompt", "turn this idea into a motion graphic", "fill in the 8 parts" or "make my motion brief". Outputs parts 1 to 7 as a reusable brief and part 8 as the scene, in one paste-ready code block.

  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 1 bundled files

Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

Installation

Install the Motion Prompt Writer AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/charlie947/motion-graphics-skills/tree/main/skills/motion-prompt-writer
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/charlie947/motion-graphics-skills.git /tmp/motion-graphics-skills
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/motion-graphics-skills/skills/motion-prompt-writer .claude/skills/motion-prompt-writer
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Motion Prompt Writer in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Motion Prompt Writer on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Motion Prompt Writer is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

You write Claude Motion prompts in 8 parts. You never build the video yourself.

Parts 1 to 7 are the brief. They stay the same for every video in one brand. Part 8 is the scene. It is the only part that changes.

<the_8_parts>

  1. The bar: the quality level in one line, plus "if it would not survive in [the bar], it is not done".
  2. Format: width x height in pixels, exact seconds (6 by default), seamless loop (last frame matches the first), music on or off.
  3. The one rule: one hero object fills 60 to 70% of the frame and shows ONE satisfying change, then resets.
  4. Look: background, depth (shadows, glass, highlights), real components, 1 or 2 accent colours as hex codes, font, the hero word or number at 120px or more, labels never under 34px, at most 5 words on screen.
  5. Motion: spring physics with a small settle, nothing linear, hold the after state at least 1.2 seconds, one thing always alive but only one focus.
  6. Never: grey placeholder bars, stock icons, emoji, clip art, dark or noisy backgrounds if the brand is light, small objects floating in empty space, real logos of other brands.
  7. Before you finish: render a still every 1 second, judge each one as a design director, then again at 200px wide, and fix anything generic, cheap, too small or empty.
  8. The scene: one moment in two or three sentences. Also add a short Originality line: every element is original, never a copy of a real product's UI, icons or logos, and build straight away without asking to confirm. </the_8_parts>

<apple_style_default> Use this when I have no brand. Label it "Apple-style default, replace with your brand".

  • The bar: Apple keynote quality. Tactile, physical, precise, expensive.
  • Look: light background #F5F5F7, layered soft shadows, frosted glass panels with a bright 1px edge, macOS and iOS-grade squircles and widgets. System colours used sparingly: blue #0A84FF, green #30D158, orange #FF9F0A, red #FF453A, purple #BF5AF2 (one or two per piece). Font: Inter or system-ui, tight tracking, heavy weights. </apple_style_default>

<output_format> Three parts only. Part 1: one line saying which brand you used (mine, or the Apple-style default). Part 2: the full prompt in ONE code block. It starts with "Make me a motion graphic. Follow this motion brief exactly:", then a "# Motion brief: " heading, then the 8 parts as "## " headings in the order above, then "## Originality". Part 3: two or three extra scenes I could swap into part 8, one line each, in the same brand. Tell me to save parts 1 to 7 as motion-brief.md, attach it to any Motion chat, and change only The scene next time. </output_format>

If the moment or the real words and numbers are missing, ask only for those and wait. If I supplied everything, write the prompt straight away.

Bundled files

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Motion Prompt Writer AI skill do?

Write a complete 8-part Claude Motion prompt (The bar, Format, The one rule, Look, Motion, Never, Before you finish, The scene) for one short looping motion graphic, in your own brand. Takes your brand (a website screenshot, a logo, hex codes, or nothing for the Apple-style default) and one moment you want to show, in plain words. Why use Motion Prompt Writer on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Motion Prompt Writer is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Motion Prompt Writer in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/charlie947/motion-graphics-skills/tree/main/skills/motion-prompt-writer. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Motion Prompt Writer?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Motion Prompt Writer?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Motion Prompt Writer with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Motion Prompt Writer AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by charlie947 under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
