  • Markdown instructions

    A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

    AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • Self-contained

    Everything the model needs lives in the instructions — no extra files to sync.

  • Open source

    Published by corezoid on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Simulator Attachments AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/corezoid/simulator-ai-plugin/tree/main/plugins/simulator/skills/simulator-attachments
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/corezoid/simulator-ai-plugin.git /tmp/simulator-ai-plugin
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/simulator-ai-plugin/plugins/simulator/skills/simulator-attachments .claude/skills/simulator-attachments
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Simulator Attachments in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Simulator Attachments on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Simulator Attachments is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

    The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

    Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Curated tool names (v2 server): uploadBase64, getAttachments, getActorAttachments, addAttachments, updateAttachment, removeAttachments. Plus the engine tools uploadActorPicture / uploadActorPictureBulk for actor avatars. Call them by these exact names.

Simulator.Company Files & Attachments Specialist

A file is uploaded once into the workspace and becomes an attachment record (with an attachId). You then link that record to actors or reactions. Listing, renaming and unlinking operate on the record.

Relationship to the other skills

  • simulator-reactions — a comment can carry files via its attachments:[{attachId}].
  • simulator-actors — uploadActorPicture sets an actor's avatar (an engine tool, not here).

The flow: upload → attachId → link

  1. Upload the bytes → get the attachment record (attachId, stored fileName).
  2. Link the attachId to an actor/reaction (or pass it in a reaction's attachments).
  3. Manage it later (rename, list, unlink).

Workspace context

uploadBase64, getAttachments, addAttachments, removeAttachments take an accId (workspace id) — it defaults to the configured workspace if omitted. updateAttachment is addressed by attachId only.

Upload a file

uploadBase64(
  accId="ws_xxx", # optional — defaults to the configured workspace
  file="<base64 string>",          # prefer RAW base64; a data:<mime>;base64, prefix is also stripped server-side
  originalName="report.pdf",       # sets the type + title
  ttl=0)                           # seconds; 0 = permanent
# → returns the attachment record incl. attachId + fileName

Prefer raw base64. A data: URI prefix is accepted and stripped server-side, but raw base64 is the safe default. Multipart uploads are not a curated tool — use uploadActorPicture for actor images, or uploadBase64 for everything else.

Link / unlink files

addAttachments(accId="ws_xxx", items=[
  { "attachId": 5521, "actorId": "<actor or reaction UUID>" }
])
removeAttachments(accId="ws_xxx", items=[
  { "attachId": 5521, "actorId": "<actor or reaction UUID>" }
]) # unlinks; does NOT delete the stored file

Which files you may link. The file must be in the target actor's workspace and within your reach: you uploaded it, or it already hangs on an actor you can view. An unlinked file is its uploader's alone, except an anonymous visitor's upload (public form/widget intake), which a workspace member or API key may link. Anything else → 400 (another workspace) / 403. The same rule applies to a reaction's attachments. Link the file you just uploaded, not an id picked from getAttachments.

List & rename

getAttachments(accId="ws_xxx", limit=50, orderBy="created_at", orderValue="DESC")  # all files in the workspace
getActorAttachments(actorId="<actor UUID>", limit=100) # only files linked to one actor
updateAttachment(attachId=5521, title="Q3 report.pdf")

Use getActorAttachments when you want a single actor's files; getAttachments lists the whole workspace. getActorAttachments is addressed by actorId (no accId).

End-to-end: attach a PDF to an actor

# 1. upload
uploadBase64(originalName="contract.pdf", file="<base64>")   → attachId 5521
# 2. link it to the actor
addAttachments(items=[{ "attachId": 5521, "actorId": "<actor UUID>" }])
# (or attach to a comment instead — see simulator-reactions: createReaction(..., attachments=[{attachId:5521}]))

Tips

  • Upload first to get an attachId, then addAttachments (or a reaction's attachments).
  • removeAttachments only unlinks — it does not delete the stored bytes.
  • uploadBase64 prefers raw base64; a data:<mime>;base64, prefix is stripped server-side.
  • For an actor's avatar/picture use uploadActorPicture (handles URL / local path / base64, auto-rasterises SVG).
  • addAttachments/removeAttachments items need BOTH attachId and actorId per entry.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Simulator Attachments AI skill do?

Simulator.Company files & attachments specialist. Use when the user wants to upload a file, attach a document/image to an actor or comment, list/rename/detach workspace files. Activate when the user says "upload a file", "attach this document", "add an attachment", "rename the file", "detach the file", "list workspace files", "завантаж файл", "прикріпи файл/документ", "відкріпи вкладення", "загрузи файл", "прикрепи документ". For setting an actor's picture/avatar use the `uploadActorPicture` engine tool; for comments that carry files use `simulator-reactions`.

Why use Simulator Attachments on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Simulator Attachments is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Simulator Attachments in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/corezoid/simulator-ai-plugin/tree/main/plugins/simulator/skills/simulator-attachments. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Simulator Attachments?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Simulator Attachments?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Simulator Attachments with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Simulator Attachments AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by corezoid under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
