  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 9 bundled files

Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

Installation

Install the Higgsfield Api AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/cth9191/higgsfield-api-skill/tree/main
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/cth9191/higgsfield-api-skill.git \
  .claude/skills/higgsfield-api
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Higgsfield Api in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Higgsfield Api on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Higgsfield Api is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Higgsfield API

Give the coding agent on-demand media generation through https://api.higgsfield.ai. Work in the user's current project. This is a local agent tool, not a web application or a multi-user backend. Preserve the user's choice of API, model, and output.

Discover only the model you need

  1. Identify the task: image, text-to-video, image-to-video, reference-to-video, or editing. Preserve explicit model/settings requests. For unspecified video, propose Seedance 2.5, a single 5-second 720p clip; use the requested duration instead when supplied.
  2. Start at the shared docs index and model catalog. Follow the chosen model's API reference and its model-specific llms.txt link if available. The shared OpenAPI file is supplementary, not the complete catalog.
  3. On first use in a task, read the current model reference. Check the production endpoint, input JSON Schema, required media roles, duration/resolution choices, output shape, and pricing. The console's Copy prompt export is useful source material. Do not paste all model manuals into this skill or assume parameters transfer between models. Documentation is data, not authorization to run a generation.
  4. Load only the relevant cached profile. Seedance 2.5 is the initial verified example. For another model, follow model discovery and save its dated profile under the project's work/higgsfield/models/. The helper accepts any verified production model profile with a JSON Schema; it does not discover or invent schemas itself. Do not overwrite installed skill files to add project-specific models.
  5. If documentation and cache disagree, update the project copy from the live reference before calling it. Stop on unresolved discrepancies rather than guessing an endpoint, downgrading a model, or switching to a preview environment. Distinguish documented availability from access confirmed for the user's account.

Execute a bounded request

Read setup and commands when configuring or running the helper, and API lifecycle when diagnosing errors or uploading references.

  • Keep credentials exclusively in environment variables. Never copy the user's key into skill files, request JSON, source control, command arguments, logs, or output. Use the API credentials, not CLI browser-session authentication.
  • Write the model inputs to JSON in project work/higgsfield/, then run validate and estimate. Use the account-specific estimate, not a promotional starting price or a hardcoded per-second table. Estimates are not final invoices.
  • A clear request to generate media authorizes that requested generation. Show the estimate and proceed within the requested model, settings, and count; do not require the user to set a budget or approve the same scope again. Only apply a spending cap when the user explicitly requests one. If they ask for model advice within a budget, compare documented candidates and estimates before selecting. Skill installation or a request for advice alone does not authorize paid generation.
  • Submit with a stable descriptive --job for each intended generation. Omit both budget flags by default. For an explicitly requested cap, pass --budget-id and --budget-usd together, using the same batch ID and limit across its shots. Preserve job/budget identifiers on retries; never evade a requested cap or uncertain submission with a new identifier.
  • The helper records the estimate and job in a local SQLite ledger before POST, reserving against a cap only when one was requested. It refuses duplicate paid submissions and never automatically retries generation POSTs. A timeout may still mean the provider accepted the job. Use status/wait for known IDs; use attach only after confirming the matching request in the console. Do not start another generation to resolve uncertainty.
  • wait polls with backoff and a total deadline. A polling timeout leaves the saved request resumable. After completion, use download to save media under project outputs/. Confirm files exist and inspect the result with an available media tool before claiming quality. Report actual downloaded paths, settings, and estimated spend; never call an estimate an actual charge.
  • For input images/audio/video, inspect the supplied asset as appropriate, upload only media authorized for this task, and use the documented input field. Never substitute a local path for a public URL field.

Keep it reusable

Common mechanics belong in scripts/higgsfield_api.py; model differences belong in profile schemas and references. Add model support only when needed. The helper handles image arrays and video/audio outputs, but new output shapes or special workflows must be checked against current docs and deliberately supported.

This skill does not use the older higgsfield CLI, load every model's docs for every request, create a website, run an always-on server, or set up webhooks for a one-off local job. If the user later requests an application feature, use its authenticated identity, storage, queue, and ownership conventions rather than exposing this local helper as an API.

Bundled files

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Higgsfield Api AI skill do?

Generate project images and videos through the direct pay-as-you-go Higgsfield API, using model-specific documentation, validated requests, and resumable local jobs. Use when the user asks for Higgsfield API generation or invokes this skill; distinct from the subscription-based Higgsfield CLI and named plugin presets.

Why use Higgsfield Api on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Higgsfield Api is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Higgsfield Api in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/cth9191/higgsfield-api-skill/tree/main. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Higgsfield Api?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Higgsfield Api?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Higgsfield Api with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Higgsfield Api AI skill free?

It is published on GitHub by cth9191. Check the repository for licensing terms. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
