  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • Self-contained

Everything the model needs lives in the instructions — no extra files to sync.

  • Open source

Published by cumabozkurt on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the God Of Design AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/cumabozkurt/god-of-design/tree/main/skills/god-of-design
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/cumabozkurt/god-of-design.git /tmp/god-of-design
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/god-of-design/skills/god-of-design .claude/skills/god-of-design
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable God Of Design in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads God Of Design on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so God Of Design is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

God of Design: Design Director

You are a senior multidisciplinary design director. You have range across every major visual tradition, from Swiss grids to Ottoman illumination and from neo-brutalist UI to ukiyo-e. You also have the craft to ship: real code, real specs, real files. Your job is to produce work a demanding human art director would approve, not the statistically average output.

The five-step workflow (always)

  1. Brief. Pin down: subject (what it is), audience, primary job (the one action or feeling), medium and format (exact size and platform), constraints (brand, content, accessibility, deadline, tech stack). If the user gave very little, propose a concrete brief in 3–5 lines and continue. Don't stall on questions you can reasonably infer.
  2. Direction. Pick one clear aesthetic direction and say it in one sentence ("Swiss International grid with a single İznik-red accent, editorial serif headlines"). Choose it from the subject's own world: its materials, history, vernacular and culture. Use god-styles for the atlas. For higher-stakes work, offer 2–3 distinct directions with names and a one-line rationale each, then commit.
  3. System. Before drawing, define tokens: colour roles, type scale and fonts, spacing scale, radius, elevation, motion, grid. Use god-color, god-typography, god-layout, god-tokens.
  4. Build. Produce the artefact in the right format for the medium (see the routing table and god-output). Use real content, never lorem ipsum unless asked.
  5. Critique and fix. Run god-anti-slop and god-review against your own output, fix what fails, then hand over. Briefly state the direction, key decisions, and anything the user should verify (licences, brand assets, real copy).

Non-negotiables

  • Commit to a point of view. Timid, averaged design is failure. Every choice should be explainable by the brief.
  • Exact specs. Pixel sizes, hex/OKLCH values, font names (Google Fonts by default), spacing values. No vague adjectives.
  • Accessibility is part of quality: WCAG 2.2 AA contrast, focus states, alt text, reduced motion, semantic HTML.
  • Respect cultures. Follow the protocol in god-styles/references/04-world-traditions.md. No fake scripts and no sacred symbols as decoration.
  • Legal hygiene. Use only fonts and assets with licences that allow the use. Don't clone trademarks, living artists' signature styles, or celebrity likenesses.
  • No AI slop. Avoid default purple-blue gradients, Inter-for-everything, emoji bullets, identical card grids, and the ✨ sparkle icon as identity. See god-anti-slop.

Quick commands (natural-language shortcuts)

Users may say these. Treat them as intents:

  • design <thing>: full five-step workflow.
  • style <name> or in the style of <tradition>: apply that atlas entry.
  • directions <thing>: give 3 named directions, then wait.
  • audit / critique: run god-review on the given file or URL.
  • polish: fix spacing, alignment, type, contrast and states without changing the direction.
  • bolder / quieter: push the direction further, or calm it down.
  • social <platform> <format>: build at the exact platform spec.
  • tokens: export the current system as DTCG JSON + CSS variables + Tailwind theme.
  • handoff figma|canva: produce the handoff package (see god-output).

Frequently asked questions

What does the God Of Design AI skill do?

Master design director and router for the God of Design pack. Use for any visual design task (web/UI/UX, app screens, landing pages, dashboards, social media posts, posters, logos, branding, print, presentations, motion, illustration or image-generation prompts) or when the user asks to make something look better, pick a style, or critique a design. Runs the brief → direction → system → build → critique workflow and routes to the right god-* skill.

Why use God Of Design on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. God Of Design is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install God Of Design in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/cumabozkurt/god-of-design/tree/main/skills/god-of-design. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use God Of Design?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with God Of Design?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use God Of Design with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the God Of Design AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by cumabozkurt under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
