  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 8 bundled files

Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

Published by devPnal on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Design System Is All You Need AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/devPnal/design-system-is-all-you-need/tree/main/design-system-is-all-you-need
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/devPnal/design-system-is-all-you-need.git /tmp/design-system-is-all-you-need
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/design-system-is-all-you-need/design-system-is-all-you-need .claude/skills/design-system-is-all-you-need
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Design System Is All You Need in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Design System Is All You Need on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Design System Is All You Need is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

When to Use

Activate this skill whenever the user requests UI/UX design work, frontend implementation, component creation, or any visual design task — including but not limited to:

  • Creating web pages, apps, dashboards, or landing pages
  • Building UI components (buttons, cards, forms, modals, etc.)
  • Designing or prototyping interfaces
  • Generating frontend code (HTML/CSS, React, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, etc.)

CRITICAL: Mandatory Design Guideline Selection Flow

You MUST follow the three-step flow below IN ORDER before producing any design or code output. Do NOT skip any step. Do NOT assume defaults. Do NOT proceed until each step is confirmed by the user.

Step 1 — Select a Design Guideline

If the user has NOT already specified which design style to use, you MUST stop and ask them to choose from the available guidelines:

Available Design Guidelines:

#StyleFileDescription
1Neumorphism (Soft UI)references/neumorphism.mdExtruded/pressed soft surfaces with dual-directional shadows on a matte background
2Glassmorphism (Frosted Glass UI)references/glassmorphism.mdTranslucent frosted glass panels layered over rich, vibrant backgrounds
3Brutalism (Raw UI)references/brutalism.mdExposed structural elements with thick borders, hard-edge shadows, and aggressive typography on flat surfaces
4Skeuomorphism (Realistic UI)references/skeuomorphism.mdTangible, material-driven surfaces with realistic gradients, textures, highlights, and physically weighted interactions
5Material Design (Material You / M3)references/material-design.mdLayered adaptive surfaces with tonal color palettes, systematic elevation, and physically informed motion
6Pnalism (Two-Tone Minimal, Pnal's UI)references/pnalism.mdDisciplined two-tone color system with zero shadows, relying solely on typography, whitespace, and precise accent placement
7Neon (Glow UI)references/neon.mdDark-first luminous interfaces with multi-layer colored glow effects simulating electric neon tube signage
8Heritage (Warm Editorial UI)references/heritage.mdWarm earthy tonal surfaces with serif/script typography, organic image shapes, and editorial asymmetric layouts

Present these options clearly and wait for the user's choice. If the user describes a style that clearly maps to one of the above (e.g., "frosted glass look", "soft 3D style"), you may infer the selection but confirm it before proceeding.

If the user wants a style NOT listed above, inform them that only the styles above are currently available as structured guidelines, and ask if they'd like to proceed with one of them or provide their own custom guideline.

Step 2 — Read the Selected Guideline

Once the user has chosen a guideline, immediately read the corresponding file from the references/ folder:

  • Neumorphism → Read references/neumorphism.md
  • Glassmorphism → Read references/glassmorphism.md
  • Brutalism → Read references/brutalism.md
  • Skeuomorphism → Read references/skeuomorphism.md
  • Meterial Design → Read references/meterial-design.md
  • Pnalism → Read references/pnalism.md
  • Neon → Read references/neon.md
  • Heritage → Read references/heritage.md

Internalize ALL rules from the selected guideline — both common rules and component-specific guides. These rules govern every design decision from this point forward.

Step 3 — Collect Required User Inputs

Each guideline requires exactly two user inputs. After reading the guideline, check whether the user has already provided these values. If ANY value is missing, you MUST ask for it before producing any output.

For Neumorphism:

  1. Theme Color (--theme-color): A hex color code (e.g., #6C63FF)
  2. Shadow Intensity (--shadow-intensity): subtle | medium | strong

For Glassmorphism:

  1. Theme Color (--theme-color): A hex color code (e.g., #6C63FF)
  2. Blur Intensity (--blur-intensity): light | medium | heavy

For Brutalism:

  1. Theme Color (--theme-color): A hex color code (e.g., #FF5733)
  2. Rawness Level (--rawness): moderate | raw | extreme

For Skeuomorphism:

  1. Theme Color (--theme-color): A hex color code (e.g., #3A7BD5)
  2. Realism Depth (--realism): refined | classic | rich

For Material Design:

  1. Theme Color (--theme-color): A hex color code (e.g., #6750A4)
  2. Elevation Style (--elevation-style): flat | tonal | shadow

For Pnalism:

  1. Theme Color (--theme-color): A hex color code (e.g., #4A7DFF)
  2. Density (--density): compact | comfortable | spacious

For Neon:

  1. Theme Color (--theme-color): A hex color code (e.g., #FF00FF)
  2. Glow Intensity (--glow-intensity): dim | standard | vivid

For Heritage:

  1. Theme Color (--theme-color): A hex color code (e.g., #C4A882)
  2. Warmth Level (--warmth): subtle | classic | rich

When asking, provide brief descriptions and examples so the user can make an informed choice. Once both values are confirmed, derive all remaining tokens according to the Auto-Derived Token System defined in the guideline.

After the Flow is Complete

Once all three steps are done, you have:

  • A selected design guideline (fully read and internalized)
  • Two confirmed user inputs
  • A complete set of auto-derived design tokens

From this point, apply the guideline strictly to ALL design and code output. Specifically:

  • Follow every rule in the Common Rules section without exception.
  • Apply the Component-Specific Guides whenever creating or modifying the relevant component.
  • Use the Final Checklist at the end of the guideline to verify every deliverable before presenting it to the user.

Important Notes

  • If the user changes the theme color or intensity mid-conversation, recalculate ALL derived tokens before producing new output.
  • If the user requests a component not covered in the component-specific guides, apply the common rules and extrapolate the closest matching component's guide.
  • The guideline is platform-agnostic. Apply the same visual rules whether outputting HTML/CSS, React, Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, or design specifications.
  • Always prioritize accessibility requirements defined in the guideline (WCAG AA contrast, touch targets, focus indicators).

Bundled files

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Design System Is All You Need AI skill do?

This skill provides a curated set of cross-platform design guideline prompts for building consistent, high-quality UIs. Each guideline defines common rules, component-specific guides, and an auto-derived token system — all driven by minimal user inputs.

Why use Design System Is All You Need on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Design System Is All You Need is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Design System Is All You Need in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/devPnal/design-system-is-all-you-need/tree/main/design-system-is-all-you-need. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Design System Is All You Need?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Design System Is All You Need?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Design System Is All You Need with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Design System Is All You Need AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by devPnal under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
