Manages the traveler profile in the FlightClaw MCP server so an AI flight booking agent knows who flies and what they like. Saves the primary user, companions, cabin and airline preferences, credit cards, loyalty points balances and past trips with feedback. Use when the user wants to set up travel preferences, save passenger details, record points or cards, review trip history or give feedback after a trip in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client.

  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • Self-contained

Everything the model needs lives in the instructions — no extra files to sync.

  • Open source

Published by flightclaw on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Traveler Profile AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/flightclaw/agents/tree/master/skills/traveler-profile
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/flightclaw/agents.git /tmp/agents
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/agents/skills/traveler-profile .claude/skills/traveler-profile
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Traveler Profile in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Traveler Profile on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Traveler Profile is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Traveler Profile, Preferences and Trip History (FlightClaw)

Set up a traveler profile once so FlightClaw can book flights with AI that fit the user. The profile holds the user, companions, travel preferences, cards, points balances and trip history. recommend_flights uses these preferences to rank cheap flights for the person asking.

When to use

  • First use: onboard the user and their companions.
  • The user states a preference ("I never fly red-eyes", "aisle seat").
  • The user adds a card or a points balance.
  • The user asks about past trips, or gives feedback after a trip.

Prerequisites

Connect the FlightClaw hosted MCP server: https://mcp.flightclaw.com/mcp (streamable HTTP, OAuth sign-in). Nothing to install.

  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http flightclaw https://mcp.flightclaw.com/mcp
  • Cursor: One-click install, or add {"mcpServers":{"flightclaw":{"url":"https://mcp.flightclaw.com/mcp"}}} to ~/.cursor/mcp.json
  • VS Code: One-click install, or code --add-mcp '{"name":"flightclaw","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.flightclaw.com/mcp"}'
  • Claude (web / desktop): Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector > paste https://mcp.flightclaw.com/mcp
  • ChatGPT: Settings > Apps & Connectors > Create (developer mode) > paste https://mcp.flightclaw.com/mcp

If the FlightClaw tools are not available, ask the user to connect the server first.

Tool flow

Who you are

  • get_me: show the primary user (linked traveler, account email, home airports).
  • set_me: set me_traveler (a saved traveler name), and optional account_email and home_airports (array of IATA codes).

Travelers

  • save_traveler: name (short key), given_name, family_name; optional born_on, gender, title, email, phone_number, relationship, loyalty_programmes.
  • list_travelers, get_traveler (by name), delete_traveler (by name).

Preferences

  • get_preferences: show saved preferences and learnings.
  • set_preferences: patch any subset. Fields that recommend_flights uses: cabin_rules (short-haul and long-haul cabin), preferred_airlines, avoid_airlines, depart_window, max_stops, redeye_ok, budget_sensitivity. Other preferences such as seat, baggage and meal can be saved too.

Cards and points

  • save_card: id, issuer, product; optional network, region, notes. This records which cards the user holds for points awareness. It never stores card numbers.
  • list_cards, delete_card (by id).
  • set_points_balance: program and balance. list_points shows all balances.

Trips

  • log_trip: after a booking, record route, depart_date, travelers; optional return_date, cabin, price, currency, order_id.
  • list_trips, get_trip (by id).
  • trips_followup: list completed trips that need feedback.
  • record_trip_feedback: id, feedback and optional learnings (array). Lasting lessons fold into preferences.

Onboarding order

  1. save_traveler for the user, then set_me.
  2. save_traveler for each companion, and save_group if they travel together.
  3. set_preferences with one or two questions per message.
  4. Optional: save_card and set_points_balance.

Rules

  • Never ask for or save card numbers, CVCs or passwords. save_card stores only issuer and product.
  • Ask before you save personal data, and save only what the user gives.
  • Confirm before delete_traveler, delete_card or other deletes.
  • When the user books, confirm before create_checkout and show the price including the fee (5% + $3, minimum $12). See the book-flight skill.

Example prompts

  • "Set me up: I'm Jack Culpan, home airports LHR and LGW."
  • "I prefer economy on short flights and business on long-haul, and I avoid Ryanair."
  • "I have an Amex Platinum and 120,000 Avios."
  • "Show my past trips."
  • "The Lisbon trip was great but the layover was too short. Remember that."

Frequently asked questions

What does the Traveler Profile AI skill do?

Manages the traveler profile in the FlightClaw MCP server so an AI flight booking agent knows who flies and what they like. Saves the primary user, companions, cabin and airline preferences, credit cards, loyalty points balances and past trips with feedback. Use when the user wants to set up travel preferences, save passenger details, record points or cards, review trip history or give feedback after a trip in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client.

Why use Traveler Profile on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Traveler Profile is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Traveler Profile in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/flightclaw/agents/tree/master/skills/traveler-profile. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Traveler Profile?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Traveler Profile?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Traveler Profile with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Traveler Profile AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by flightclaw under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
