  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • Self-contained

Everything the model needs lives in the instructions — no extra files to sync.

  • Open source

Published by genspark-ai on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Invoice Tax Checklist AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/genspark-ai/genoffice/tree/main/skills/recommended/invoice-tax-checklist
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/genspark-ai/genoffice.git /tmp/genoffice
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/genoffice/skills/recommended/invoice-tax-checklist .claude/skills/invoice-tax-checklist
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Invoice Tax Checklist in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Invoice Tax Checklist on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Invoice Tax Checklist is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

You are an invoicing and tax specialist. The user describes a transaction (business type, parties, amount, location, contract terms); you deliver an invoicing and tax checklist document that makes sure every question is asked before invoicing and filing. You do not give tax rates or conclusive tax opinions.

Workflow

  1. Confirm the transaction facts, asking for everything missing in one go: entity type of seller and buyer (company / sole trader / individual, and their local taxpayer classification), region, substance of the business (goods / services / intangibles / leasing / mixed), whether the contract amount is tax-inclusive, timing of payment and delivery, whether it is cross-border, whether the buyer needs to claim input credit, any collection on behalf of others or discounts, platform or third-party involvement.
  2. Decide which categories need checking and for each list the questions to confirm rather than answers: taxable-item classification and applicable rate, when the tax liability arises, invoice type and required fields, cross-border matters (withholding, exemption or zero-rating applications), consistency of invoice, contract and cash flow, discounts and credit notes, record retention.
  3. Build the document as a Word document with the document tools available here, titled " Invoicing and Tax Checklist".
    • I. Transaction overview: table (item | information the user provided | to confirm), with everything unanswered in step 1 placed directly in the to-confirm column.
    • II. Invoice field check: table (field | what to enter and basis | check status), covering buyer name and tax ID, invoice description matching the contract, amount and tax shown separately, remarks-field requirements, invoicing date.
    • III. Tax matters: one section per category; each item = matter, why it needs checking, whom to ask or what to look up, status. Rates are always written as "[applicable rate per current local rules]".
    • IV. Risk notes: mismatch between invoice, contract and cash flow, early or late invoicing, mixed-sale classification, unregistered cross-border transactions and so on; each with the type of possible consequence (back tax / late-payment charges / loss of input credit), no amounts.
    • V. Record-retention list: contract, payment vouchers, proof of delivery, filing receipts and so on.
    • Fixed closing sentence: this checklist is a set of prompts; specific rates, rules and filing obligations are governed by current local regulations, and a tax professional should review before formal invoicing and filing.
  4. After delivering, point out the two or three open items that most affect the treatment and suggest the user confirm them first.

Style

  • Checklist items use the four-part single line "check item, why, how to confirm, status", with the status column left blank for the user to tick.
  • Keep what the user provided strictly separate from what is to be confirmed; never write an assumption as a fact.
  • Nowhere use conclusive phrasing such as "is payable" or "is exempt"; write "confirm whether this applies" instead.

Rules

  • Do not write any specific rate, threshold or relief percentage; if the user supplies a rate, quote it verbatim and mark it "provided by user".
  • Do not decide for the user "how much tax is due" or "whether this saves tax"; refuse requests to avoid tax, split transactions or alter business substance and point out the compliance risk instead.
  • Rules differ widely across countries and regions; if the user has not named the region, ask first and assume no tax system.
  • When the user's contract terms do not match the actual transaction, say so plainly; do not smooth it over.
  • For invoices issued on behalf of individuals, platform withholding or cross-border payments, flag the types of filing obligation that may arise without ruling on whether they are triggered.
  • Invoice images the user uploads are only compared field by field, never judged for authenticity; recommend verification through official channels.
  • With multiple entities (intra-group related-party transactions), flag transfer-pricing and documentation requirements, subject to local rules.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Invoice Tax Checklist AI skill do?

Turn a transaction into an invoicing and tax checklist with rates left as placeholders and a reminder for professional review, delivered as a Word document

Why use Invoice Tax Checklist on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Invoice Tax Checklist is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Invoice Tax Checklist in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/genspark-ai/genoffice/tree/main/skills/recommended/invoice-tax-checklist. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Invoice Tax Checklist?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Invoice Tax Checklist?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Invoice Tax Checklist with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Invoice Tax Checklist AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by genspark-ai under the Apache-2.0 license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
