  • Markdown instructions

    A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

    AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 13 bundled files

    Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

    Published by hookdeck on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Ada Webhooks AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/hookdeck/webhook-skills/tree/main/skills/ada-webhooks
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/hookdeck/webhook-skills.git /tmp/webhook-skills
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/webhook-skills/skills/ada-webhooks .claude/skills/ada-webhooks
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Ada Webhooks in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Ada Webhooks on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Ada Webhooks is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

    The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

    Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Ada Webhooks

Ada is an AI customer service platform. Its webhooks report conversations, messages, handoffs, end user profile changes, audit log entries and Voice Proactive Outreach calls. Ada delivers them through Svix, so every webhook is signed with svix-id, svix-timestamp and svix-signature headers.

When to Use This Skill

  • How do I receive Ada webhooks?
  • How do I verify an Ada webhook signature?
  • Where do I find my Ada webhook signing secret?
  • How do I handle v1.conversation.created, v1.conversation.message or v1.conversation.ended?
  • Why is my Ada svix-signature verification failing?
  • How do I dedupe Ada webhook retries when the payload has no event ID?

Verification (core)

HeaderValue
svix-idUnique message ID, the same on every retry
svix-timestampUnix seconds of this delivery attempt
svix-signaturev1,<base64 HMAC-SHA256>, possibly several space-separated entries

Signed content is {svix-id}.{svix-timestamp}.{raw body}. The key is the base64-decoded part of the endpoint's secret after whsec_. Each endpoint has its own secret. Ada has no webhook SDK of its own. The examples use standardwebhooks (npm, PyPI), Svix's reference implementation of this scheme. It enforces a 5-minute timestamp tolerance and compares in constant time.

javascript
const { Webhook } = require('standardwebhooks');

// rawBody: exact request body string, NOT re-serialised JSON
function verifyAdaWebhook(rawBody, headers, secret = process.env.ADA_WEBHOOK_SECRET) {
  // standardwebhooks expects webhook-* names; Ada (Svix) sends svix-*
  return new Webhook(secret).verify(rawBody, {
    'webhook-id': headers['svix-id'],
    'webhook-timestamp': headers['svix-timestamp'],
    'webhook-signature': headers['svix-signature'],
  }); // returns the parsed event; throws → respond 400
}

Python: from standardwebhooks.webhooks import Webhook, then Webhook(secret).verify(await request.body(), {...same mapping...}). A dependency-free manual version is in references/verification.md.

For complete handlers with tests, see examples/express/, examples/nextjs/, examples/fastapi/.

Event Envelope

json
{ "type": "v1.conversation.created", "timestamp": "2026-10-21T09:30:00.123Z",
  "data": { "conversation_id": "...", "channel_id": "...", "end_user_id": "...",
            "metadata": {}, "ai_agent_domain": "example.ada.support" } }

The payload has no event ID. Dedupe on the svix-id header.

Common Event Types

EventFired when
v1.conversation.createdA new conversation is created for a supported channel
v1.conversation.messageA message is added (author.role: end_user, ai_agent, human_agent)
v1.conversation.endedA conversation ends (end endpoint called or Voice call disconnects)
v1.conversation.handoff.endedA handoff to a human agent integration ends
v1.end_user.created / v1.end_user.updatedAn end user is created / a profile value changes
v1.audit_log.emittedA configuration change is recorded in the Audit log
v1.proactive_call.queued / .initiated / .answered / .machine_detected / .failedVoice Proactive Outreach call state changes (can arrive out of order)

Full payloads: references/overview.md and Ada's webhook docs.

Delivery Semantics

  • Return a 2xx within 15 seconds. Enqueue the event and process it asynchronously.
  • Retries use exponential backoff (immediate, 5s, 5m, 30m, 2h, 5h, 10h). An endpoint that fails for a week is disabled.
  • Resend single messages or recover failed messages from the endpoint page.
  • Deliveries come from Svix source IPs (US list for *.ada.support, EU list for *.ada-eu.support).

Environment Variables

bash
ADA_WEBHOOK_SECRET=whsec_xxxxx # endpoint's signing secret; handlers fail closed (500) without it

Get it from Config > PLATFORM > Webhooks → your endpoint → Signing Secret, or with GET /api/v2/webhooks/{id}/secret/.

Local Development

bash
# Express / Next.js (use 8000 for FastAPI). No install or account required.
npx hookdeck-cli listen 3000 ada --path /webhooks/ada

Add the printed URL with Add Endpoint in Config > PLATFORM > Webhooks, choose event types, and start a conversation with your AI Agent.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Ada Webhooks AI skill do?

Receive and verify Ada (ada.cx) AI customer service webhooks, delivered through Svix. Use when setting up an Ada webhook endpoint, getting the per-endpoint whsec_ signing secret, debugging svix-id / svix-timestamp / svix-signature verification, or handling events like v1.conversation.created, v1.conversation.message, v1.conversation.ended, v1.conversation.handoff.ended, v1.end_user.created, v1.end_user.updated, v1.audit_log.emitted and v1.proactive_call.* voice outreach events.

Why use Ada Webhooks on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Ada Webhooks is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Ada Webhooks in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/hookdeck/webhook-skills/tree/main/skills/ada-webhooks. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Ada Webhooks?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Ada Webhooks?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Ada Webhooks with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Ada Webhooks AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by hookdeck under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
