  • Markdown instructions

    A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

    AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 13 bundled files

    Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

    Published by hookdeck on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Agentcard Webhooks AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/hookdeck/webhook-skills/tree/main/skills/agentcard-webhooks
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/hookdeck/webhook-skills.git /tmp/webhook-skills
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/webhook-skills/skills/agentcard-webhooks .claude/skills/agentcard-webhooks
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Agentcard Webhooks in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Agentcard Webhooks on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Agentcard Webhooks is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

    The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

    Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Agentcard Webhooks

When to Use This Skill

  • How do I receive Agentcard webhooks?
  • How do I verify the AgentCard-Signature header?
  • How do I handle card.created, transaction.authorized, approval.requested, checkout_authorization.approved, or balance.low events?
  • Why does Standard Webhooks / svix verification fail on my Agentcard whsec_ secret?
  • Why is my Agentcard webhook signature verification failing?

Essential Code (USE THIS)

Every Agentcard delivery carries AgentCard-Signature: t=<unix seconds>,v1=<hex>. v1 is the HMAC-SHA256 (hex) of "<t>.<raw body>". The key is the endpoint's whole secret string, whsec_ prefix included, as UTF-8. This is not Standard Webhooks: don't use the standardwebhooks or svix libraries, and don't strip or base64-decode the prefix. roll_secret signs deliveries with the new secret from the next event, and Agentcard documents no overlap period, so update your secret promptly; the examples accept the header if any v1 matches, which is harmless. The legacy X-AgentCard-Signature: sha256=<hex> header signs the body alone and is not used by the examples.

Verification (Node.js)

javascript
const crypto = require('crypto');

// rawBody: Buffer of the exact request bytes (express.raw({ type: '*/*' }), not express.json)
function verifyAgentcard(rawBody, header, secret) {
  if (!secret || !header) return false;
  let t; const v1 = [];
  for (const part of header.split(',')) { // trim: a space after the comma is allowed
    const p = part.trim(), i = p.indexOf('=');
    if (i > 0) { const k = p.slice(0, i).trim(), v = p.slice(i + 1).trim();
      if (k === 't') t = v; else if (k === 'v1') v1.push(v); }
  }
  if (!t || !/^\d+$/.test(t) || v1.length === 0) return false;
  // Optional replay window, off by default: retries and replays keep the original timestamp
  const expected = crypto.createHmac('sha256', secret) // whole whsec_... string
    .update(`${t}.`).update(rawBody).digest();
  // 64 hex chars first: Buffer.from(x, 'hex') silently truncates invalid hex
  return v1.some((s) => /^[0-9a-f]{64}$/i.test(s) &&
    crypto.timingSafeEqual(Buffer.from(s, 'hex'), expected));
}

Verification (Python)

python
import hashlib, hmac

def verify_agentcard(raw_body: bytes, header: str, secret: str) -> bool:
    if not secret or not header:
        return False
    t, v1 = None, []
    for part in header.split(","):
        k, sep, v = part.strip().partition("=")
        if sep and k.strip() == "t": t = v.strip()
        elif sep and k.strip() == "v1": v1.append(v.strip())
    if not t or not (t.isascii() and t.isdigit()) or not v1:
        return False
    expected = hmac.new(secret.encode(), t.encode() + b"." + raw_body, hashlib.sha256).hexdigest().encode()
    # bytes on both sides: a non-ASCII header gives a rejection, not a 500
    return any(hmac.compare_digest(s.lower().encode(), expected) for s in v1)

For complete handlers with tests, see examples/express/, examples/nextjs/, examples/fastapi/.

Timestamp window: off by default

Agentcard suggests rejecting timestamps older than a few minutes. Hookdeck retries and replays resend the original timestamp, so a 5-minute window rejects late retries. The examples therefore skip the freshness check unless you set AGENTCARD_TIMESTAMP_TOLERANCE_SECONDS to a positive number of seconds (default 0 = off). Use the event id for idempotency instead. references/verification.md shows exactly where the window can be dropped or widened.

Setup with Hookdeck

Paste the endpoint's whole secret, including the whsec_ prefix, into the Hookdeck source. Agentcard uses it as a plain HMAC key. The secret is returned once by POST /api/v2/webhook_endpoints (and again by GET /api/v2/webhook_endpoints/{id}/secret). Use the Hookdeck source URL as the endpoint url. See references/setup.md.

Event Envelope and Types

Every event is { id, type, created, livemode, data }. Branch on type; delivery is at least once, so dedupe on id.

EventTriggered When
card.createdA one-time virtual card was created
card.updatedThe card's balance or status changed
card.closedThe card closed
transaction.authorizedA merchant authorized a charge on the card
approval.requestedAn action on a user's card needs their approval
checkout_authorization.approvedThe user approved a checkout and the processor answered
balance.lowA card's balance dropped below its threshold

See references/overview.md for payloads and the other event families.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Agentcard Webhooks AI skill do?

Receive and verify Agentcard webhooks. Use when setting up Agentcard virtual card webhook handlers, debugging AgentCard-Signature verification, or handling events such as card.created, card.updated, card.closed, transaction.authorized, approval.requested, checkout_authorization.approved, and balance.low.

Why use Agentcard Webhooks on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Agentcard Webhooks is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Agentcard Webhooks in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/hookdeck/webhook-skills/tree/main/skills/agentcard-webhooks. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Agentcard Webhooks?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Agentcard Webhooks?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Agentcard Webhooks with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Agentcard Webhooks AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by hookdeck under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
