  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 1 bundled files

Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

Published by managedcode on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Xtwitter Scraper AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/managedcode/dotnet-skills/tree/main/catalog/Libraries/XTwitterScraper/skills/xtwitter-scraper
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/managedcode/dotnet-skills.git /tmp/dotnet-skills
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/dotnet-skills/catalog/Libraries/XTwitterScraper/skills/xtwitter-scraper .claude/skills/xtwitter-scraper
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Xtwitter Scraper in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Xtwitter Scraper on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Xtwitter Scraper is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

XTwitterScraper

Trigger On

  • adding the XTwitterScraper NuGet package to a .NET application
  • searching tweets, reading tweet/user data, running extraction jobs, or monitoring X accounts through Xquik from .NET
  • posting tweets, replies, likes, reposts, follows, or DMs through typed SDK methods
  • exporting extraction results, handling raw responses, retries, rate limits, or API errors
  • wiring Xquik webhook events into ASP.NET Core, workers, queues, or background processing

Workflow

  1. Confirm the project actually needs Xquik API access from .NET. If it only needs prompt guidance, use a generic agent or API-design skill instead.

  2. Install the NuGet package:

    bash
    dotnet add package XTwitterScraper
  3. Configure credentials through environment or secret storage. Prefer X_TWITTER_SCRAPER_API_KEY; keep X_TWITTER_SCRAPER_BASE_URL at its default unless a test fixture intentionally overrides it.

  4. Create XTwitterScraperClient at the composition boundary and inject it or a narrow wrapper into application services. Do not scatter client construction across handlers.

  5. Build typed Params objects for SDK calls instead of manually concatenating query strings.

  6. Treat paginated responses, extraction jobs, binary exports, and webhook events as different flow types. Do not force them through one generic helper.

  7. Preserve typed exceptions. Catch XTwitterScraperRateLimitException, authorization errors, and 5xx errors only where the application can retry, defer, or show a useful state.

  8. Validate with unit tests around your wrapper and integration tests with configured API credentials only when the environment explicitly provides them.

Architecture

Core Knowledge

  • XTwitterScraperClient reads X_TWITTER_SCRAPER_API_KEY, X_TWITTER_SCRAPER_BEARER_TOKEN, and X_TWITTER_SCRAPER_BASE_URL from the environment, and can also be configured manually.
  • The default API base URL is https://xquik.com/api/v1.
  • Common read paths include tweet search, tweet detail, user search, user detail, profile tweets, followers, trends, monitors, and extraction jobs.
  • Common write paths include tweet creation, replies, likes, reposts, follows, DMs, media upload, and giveaway draw actions.
  • Request methods use typed Params classes, such as TweetSearchParams, and return typed response models such as paginated tweets.
  • Binary export methods return HttpResponse; copy the stream deliberately instead of assuming JSON deserialization.
  • Raw response access is available through WithRawResponse when code needs status, headers, or raw body inspection.
  • WithOptions can override client options for one call without mutating the original client or service.
  • The SDK retries selected transient failures by default. Do not add broad outer retry loops without checking idempotency and endpoint semantics.

Decision Cheatsheet

If you needDefault approachWhy
Tweet search or user lookupUse typed SDK methods and Params classesKeeps request shape explicit
Application-wide client usageRegister one wrapper around XTwitterScraperClientKeeps auth and options centralized
One-off option overrideUse WithOptionsAvoids mutating shared client state
Headers or status inspectionUse WithRawResponseKeeps normal typed flow clean
Extraction result downloadTreat response as a streamAvoids accidental JSON assumptions
Webhook handlingMap events to application commands or queue messagesKeeps delivery separate from business processing

Common Failure Modes

  • Committing API keys, sample tokens, or local environment files.
  • Building URLs by hand instead of using SDK params.
  • Treating every response as JSON when export endpoints may return binary data.
  • Hiding API failures behind generic Exception catches.
  • Retrying write or workflow actions without checking whether the operation is safe to replay.
  • Mixing webhook verification, persistence, and business processing in one oversized controller.
  • Overriding BaseUrl globally in production code when only tests need a custom endpoint.

Deliver

  • a narrow package integration with XTwitterScraper
  • centralized credential and client configuration
  • typed request and response usage for the specific Xquik endpoint family
  • explicit pagination, export, raw-response, retry, and webhook handling where needed
  • tests that cover wrapper behavior without requiring live credentials by default

Validate

  • dotnet restore resolves XTwitterScraper
  • dotnet build succeeds without leaking credential values into source or logs
  • unit tests cover the application wrapper around the SDK
  • live integration tests are skipped unless the API key environment is explicitly configured
  • webhook handlers validate signatures or event authenticity before processing
  • retries and background jobs are scoped to operations that are safe for the application to replay

Bundled files

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Why use Xtwitter Scraper on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Xtwitter Scraper is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Xtwitter Scraper in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/managedcode/dotnet-skills/tree/main/catalog/Libraries/XTwitterScraper/skills/xtwitter-scraper. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Xtwitter Scraper?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Xtwitter Scraper?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Xtwitter Scraper with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Xtwitter Scraper AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by managedcode under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
