  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 1 bundled files

Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

Published by oracle on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the ESS Job Submitter AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/oracle/Fusion-Setup-Configuration-Registry/tree/main/core/fusion-api/ess-job-submitter
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/oracle/Fusion-Setup-Configuration-Registry.git /tmp/Fusion-Setup-Configuration-Registry
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/Fusion-Setup-Configuration-Registry/core/fusion-api/ess-job-submitter .claude/skills/oracle-ess-job-submitter
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable ESS Job Submitter in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads ESS Job Submitter on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so ESS Job Submitter is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

ESS Job Submitter

Purpose

Provides the ESS job submitter core capability for Oracle Fusion Cloud implementation workflows.

Canonical ESS Delegation Contract

Accept only a validated approved_submission conforming to schemas/ess-delegation-contract.schema.json version 1.0. Require the approved immutable request_payload, job contract, target environment, polling options, and approval hash. This core skill does not classify FSM tasks, choose business defaults, construct a payload, or obtain approval; it submits and tracks the exact approved payload.

When to Use

Use this core skill when another router, shared, or pillar skill needs to run an Oracle Fusion ESS scheduled process and track its result. Any implementation activity that submits, monitors, or resumes tracking an ESS job should call this skill instead of duplicating REST authentication, request submission, or polling logic.

REST API Contract

This skill uses the Oracle Fusion Scheduler REST API:

  • Submit: POST /ess/rest/scheduler/v1/requests
  • Track: GET /ess/rest/scheduler/v1/requests/{requestId}

The submit response returns an ESS request identifier as id; the tracking call uses that value as requestId. The payload supports the Oracle request fields such as jobDefinitionId, requestParameters, application, description, priority, retries, requestTimeout, schedule, scheduleId, startTime, and endTime.

Do not use callbackSubscription for now. The implementation rejects payloads that include it so all callers use the async submit-and-poll flow consistently.

Project Scripts

Run from the repository root:

bash
python3 core/fusion-api/ess-job-submitter/scripts/ess_job_submitter.py \
  --job-definition-id oracle/apps/ess/somePackage/someJob \
  --application someApplication \
  --parameter Param1=STRING=value1 \
  --wait-seconds 600 \
  --poll-interval 15 \
  --token-cache auto

Submit with an exact Oracle payload:

bash
python3 core/fusion-api/ess-job-submitter/scripts/ess_job_submitter.py \
  --payload-file request.json \
  --wait-seconds 600 \
  --token-cache auto

Resume tracking an existing ESS request:

bash
python3 core/fusion-api/ess-job-submitter/scripts/ess_job_submitter.py \
  --request-id 123456789 \
  --wait-seconds 300 \
  --token-cache auto

The script reads the default Fusion environment properties file:

text
core/auth/fusionEnv.properties

It imports OAuth helpers from:

text
core/auth/fusion-oauth-authentication/scripts/fusion_auth.py

If the cached token is missing, expired, or rejected by Fusion with HTTP 401 or 403, the script invokes core.auth.fusion-oauth-authentication to obtain a fresh token, saves it to the requested cache, and retries the ESS API call once.

Inputs

  • ess_delegation_contract: a validated approved_submission envelope conforming to schemas/ess-delegation-contract.schema.json version 1.0. The core adapter extracts its fusion_environment_context, exact request_payload, and execution_options only after validation; callers must not provide those as independent skill-level inputs.

Script-level adapter inputs (internal mapping from the validated envelope):

  • --payload or --payload-file: complete JSON submit payload.
  • --job-definition-id: convenience input for jobDefinitionId.
  • --application, --description, --product, --request-category, --request-log-level, --priority, --retries, --request-timeout, --start-time, --end-time, and --schedule-id: convenience inputs mapped into the submit payload.
  • --parameter: repeated parameter as name=value or name=TYPE=value, where TYPE is BOOLEAN, LONG, INTEGER, DATETIME, or STRING.
  • --request-id: track an existing ESS request instead of submitting a new one.
  • --find-recent-job-definition with --since-minutes: read-only lookup for recent requests matching one exact job definition. Use only when the active workflow selects recovery lookup and the user explicitly asks to check.
  • --wait-seconds: maximum polling time, default 300.
  • --poll-interval: seconds between status calls, default 10.
  • --submit-only: submit the request and return the requestId without polling.
  • --full-status: return the full tracking payload rather than a compact field set.
  • --output: write structured result JSON to a file.
  • --token-cache: file token cache path, defaulting to the managed external profile cache.
  • --force-login, --auth-code, --redirect-url, and browser flags passed to the shared OAuth flow when login is required.

Outputs

  • execution_result
  • diagnostics
  • audit_summary

Script-level outputs:

  • Structured JSON with execution_result, diagnostics, and audit_summary.
  • When --output is supplied, the submitter writes a redacted structured failure result even when it cannot obtain an ESS request ID. Callers must collect that artifact before classifying an outcome as indeterminate.
  • execution_result.requestId contains the ESS request identifier.
  • execution_result.status contains a compact status summary with state, process phase, cause, completion time, elapsed time, ECID, and any error or warning message returned by Fusion.
  • Exit code 0: submitted/tracked successfully or non-terminal status returned when no wait was requested.
  • Exit code 3: wait timeout elapsed before a terminal ESS status.
  • Exit code 4: Fusion reported a terminal unsuccessful ESS status.

Implementation Notes

Use the bundled script or import core/fusion-api/ess-job-submitter/scripts/ess_job_submitter.py from consuming skills instead of writing endpoint-specific ESS code.

The implementation records the target environment, submit response, requestId, status summary, and polling diagnostics. It does not print access tokens, refresh tokens, client secrets, .fusionaim_token.json contents, or Authorization headers.

Authenticated REST requests are restricted to HTTPS hosts configured by restBaseUrl or *_restBaseUrl in core/auth/fusionEnv.properties; other hosts and redirects to them are rejected.

For mutating invocations, consuming skills must include the ESS requestId, job definition, request purpose, target environment, and terminal status in their own audit artifacts.

Bundled files

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ESS Job Submitter AI skill do?

Provides the ess job submitter core capability for Oracle Fusion Cloud implementation workflows.

Why use ESS Job Submitter on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. ESS Job Submitter is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install ESS Job Submitter in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/oracle/Fusion-Setup-Configuration-Registry/tree/main/core/fusion-api/ess-job-submitter. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use ESS Job Submitter?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with ESS Job Submitter?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use ESS Job Submitter with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the ESS Job Submitter AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by oracle under the UPL-1.0 license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
