  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 15 bundled files

Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

Published by oracle on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Rest API Client AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/oracle/Fusion-Setup-Configuration-Registry/tree/main/core/fusion-api/rest-api-client
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/oracle/Fusion-Setup-Configuration-Registry.git /tmp/Fusion-Setup-Configuration-Registry
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/Fusion-Setup-Configuration-Registry/core/fusion-api/rest-api-client .claude/skills/oracle-rest-api-client
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Rest API Client in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Rest API Client on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Rest API Client is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Rest API Client

Purpose

Route Oracle Fusion REST, CPQ, Knowledge Management, Risk and Security, and Fusion BOSS REST API work to the correct OAuth-backed client script and instruction file without duplicating token-cache, request, retry, and response handling logic in consuming skills.

Routing

Use this skill whenever another router, shared, core, or pillar skill needs to call a Fusion REST endpoint.

Endpoint typeRoute toScript
Standard Fusion REST, such as /fscmRestApi, /hcmRestApi, /crmRestApi, /fscmUI/applcoreApi, or absolute Fusion REST URLsreferences/fusion-rest-api.mdscripts/fusion_rest_client.py
Fusion Common REST endpoints under /api/fusion-commonreferences/fusion-common-rest-api.mdscripts/fusion_rest_client.py --service fusion-common
Calling skill specifies Fusion Field Service / Field Servicereferences/field-service-rest-api.mdscripts/fusion_rest_client.py --service field-service
Calling skill specifies CX Unity / Customer Data Platformreferences/cx-unity-cdp-rest-api.mdscripts/fusion_rest_client.py --service cdp
CPQ REST endpoint containing /cpqreferences/cpq-rest-api.mdscripts/fusion_cpq_rest_client.py
Knowledge Management REST endpoint containing /api/knowledge-managementreferences/km-rest-api.mdscripts/fusion_km_rest_client.py
Risk and Security REST endpoint containing /api/risk-cloudreferences/rmc-rest-api.mdscripts/fusion_rmc_rest_client.py
Fusion BOSS REST endpoints under /api/bossreferences/boss-rest-api.mdscripts/boss-rest_client.py

Before invoking a script, read the routed instruction file in this skill folder.

Shared Configuration

All client scripts read the default Fusion environment properties file:

text
core/auth/fusionEnv.properties

All client scripts import OAuth helpers from:

text
core/auth/fusion-oauth-authentication/scripts/fusion_auth.py

Endpoints under /fscmUI/applcoreApi, including Flexfield deployment APIs, are standard Fusion REST routes. Authenticate them with the default Fusion scope and restBaseUrl properties; do not select a service-specific scope or token cache for them.

If the cached token is missing, expired, or rejected by Fusion with HTTP 401 or 403, the selected script invokes core.auth.fusion-oauth-authentication to obtain a fresh token, saves it to the requested cache, and retries the REST call once.

Inputs

  • fusion_environment_context
  • request_payload
  • execution_options

Common script-level inputs:

  • endpoint: Fusion REST resource path or absolute URL.
  • --method: GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, or DELETE.
  • --query: repeated query parameters as key=value.
  • --header: repeated extra headers as Name=value or Name: value.
  • --body or --body-file: JSON request body for write operations.
  • --output: optional response output file.
  • --token-cache: optional external private cache override; the default auto resolves to ~/.fusionaim/<profile-fingerprint>_token.json; checkout paths fail.
  • --scim-only: provisioning mode; requires the standard service and relative /hcmRestApi/scim/Users or /hcmRestApi/scim/Roles collection/resource paths. Password fields, alternate origins and write redirects are rejected.
  • --force-login, --auth-code, --redirect-url, and browser flags passed to the shared OAuth flow when login is required.

Outputs

  • execution_result
  • diagnostics
  • audit_summary

Script-level outputs:

  • Pretty-printed JSON response to stdout by default, or raw response bytes when --output is supplied.
  • HTTP status when writing to a file.
  • Token-cache refresh status without printing access tokens.

Implementation Notes

Never print access tokens, refresh tokens, client secrets, token-cache contents, or Authorization headers.

Only send credentials or bearer tokens to the single HTTPS origin selected for the active service in core/auth/fusionEnv.properties. Reject other absolute endpoints before obtaining a token, and reject redirects to a different origin, including other configured service origins. Fusion Common endpoints require --service fusion-common, fusion_common_scope, and their separate token cache.

Consumers that must pin a token to one approved service origin, including FSM Set Optin, use scripts/trusted_http.py. Supply approved_origin from the trusted environment profile, independently of request URLs or overrides. This transport validates HTTPS scheme, hostname, and effective port on the initial request and every redirect. Only same-origin GET/HEAD redirects are followed; write redirects fail without replay. It never obtains or refreshes tokens. The multi-service REST CLI routes use fusion_auth.py to bind requests to the selected service origin and OAuth scope.

For mutating methods such as POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE, consuming skills must capture the request purpose, target environment, endpoint, and any Fusion job or process identifiers returned by Fusion in their own audit output.

Bundled files

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Rest API Client AI skill do?

Routes Oracle Fusion, CPQ, Knowledge Management, Risk and Security, and Fusion BOSS REST API calls to the correct OAuth-backed client instructions and scripts.

Why use Rest API Client on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Rest API Client is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Rest API Client in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/oracle/Fusion-Setup-Configuration-Registry/tree/main/core/fusion-api/rest-api-client. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Rest API Client?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Rest API Client?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Rest API Client with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Rest API Client AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by oracle under the UPL-1.0 license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
