  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 1 bundled files

Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

Published by podo on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Hyperframes AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/podo/design-agent-skills/tree/main/skills/hyperframes
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/podo/design-agent-skills.git /tmp/design-agent-skills
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/design-agent-skills/skills/hyperframes .claude/skills/hyperframes
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Hyperframes in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Hyperframes on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Hyperframes is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Catalogue stub — full package: heygen-com/hyperframes

Decision tree

  1. Is the full skill already installed? This package installs 10 skills (hyperframes, hyperframes-core, hyperframes-cli, hyperframes-animation, hyperframes-audio, hyperframes-creative, hyperframes-keyframes, hyperframes-registry, hyperframes-studio, media-use); checking the first.

    • Global: f=~/.agents/skills/hyperframes/SKILL.md; [ -f "$f" ] && ! grep -q "^das:" "$f" && echo "installed" || echo "pointer"
    • Project: f=.agents/skills/hyperframes/SKILL.md; [ -f "$f" ] && ! grep -q "^das:" "$f" && echo "installed" || echo "pointer"
    • installed → the skill is installed as hyperframes, invoke it and proceed
    • pointer → go to step 2
  2. Install (the skills CLI cannot install this one):

The repository is about 500 MB (showcase media and test baselines), so the skills CLI's full clone can exceed its 300 s limit. Sparse-clone only the skills folder, then install the entry skill and the core set from the local clone; the entry skill installs the other workflow skills on demand.

If an earlier attempt left /tmp/hyperframes-skills behind, delete it first (rm -rf /tmp/hyperframes-skills): git clone refuses a non-empty directory.

    bash
    [ -e ~/.agents/skills/hyperframes ] && echo "global" || echo "project"

    Global:

    bash
    git clone --depth=1 --filter=blob:none --sparse https://github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes.git /tmp/hyperframes-skills
    git -C /tmp/hyperframes-skills sparse-checkout set skills
    npx skills add /tmp/hyperframes-skills --skill hyperframes hyperframes-core hyperframes-cli hyperframes-animation hyperframes-audio hyperframes-creative hyperframes-keyframes hyperframes-registry hyperframes-studio media-use -g -y
    rm -rf /tmp/hyperframes-skills

    Project:

    bash
    git clone --depth=1 --filter=blob:none --sparse https://github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes.git /tmp/hyperframes-skills
    git -C /tmp/hyperframes-skills sparse-checkout set skills
    npx skills add /tmp/hyperframes-skills --skill hyperframes hyperframes-core hyperframes-cli hyperframes-animation hyperframes-audio hyperframes-creative hyperframes-keyframes hyperframes-registry hyperframes-studio media-use -y
    rm -rf /tmp/hyperframes-skills

claude plugin install hyperframes@hyperframes

Heads-up

  • Requires: Node.js 22+ and FFmpeg (upstream requirements); Network access at use time. The entry skill installs the workflow skills it routes to (slideshow, general-video, product-launch-video and others) on demand with npx hyperframes skills update <workflow>; HeyGen CLI sign-in (free OAuth allowance) only for background music, TTS voiceover and avatar video. Sound effects and animation authoring need no account
  • License: Apache-2.0

Invoke after install

  • Skill name: hyperframes — the entry point; read it first for any request to make, edit, animate or render a video or motion graphic. It resumes project state, routes to the right workflow, and installs that workflow on demand.
  • Domain skills it loads as needed: hyperframes-core (composition structure and timing), hyperframes-animation, hyperframes-keyframes, hyperframes-creative, hyperframes-audio, hyperframes-cli (init, lint, render, publish), hyperframes-studio, hyperframes-registry, media-use (images, icons, audio, captions, grades)
  • Trigger phrases: "hyperframes", "HTML to video", "render video from HTML", "Anime.js"

What it does

"Write HTML. Render video." — a suite of skills for AI coding agents that need to produce video from HTML compositions. A composition is an HTML file whose DOM declares timing with data-* attributes and whose animation runtime is seekable, so the framework can render it frame by frame. The core set covers composition authoring, motion rules and runtime adapters (GSAP, Anime.js, CSS, Lottie, Three.js, WAAPI), creative direction, audio and captions, a CLI-driven init/lint/render workflow, and a reusable media registry.

This pointer installs the core set, which is what upstream installs eagerly. The creation workflows (slideshow or deck, product-launch video, PR-to-video, talking-head overlays, music-to-video, motion graphics, faceless explainer, general video, Remotion port) are fetched by the hyperframes skill on demand, so they are not installed here. To get everything at once, use the Claude Code plugin route above.

When NOT to use

  • Static animation without video output → use gsap-skills, framer-motion-skills, or animate-css-skill
  • Programmatic React video → use remotion
  • Background music, TTS or avatar features without a HeyGen CLI sign-in will not work; animation authoring and sound effects need no account

Bundled files

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Hyperframes AI skill do?

"Write HTML. Render video." — skills for composition authoring, captions and voiceover, CLI workflow, asset registry, and GSAP/Anime.js/CSS/Lottie/Three.js/WAAPI animation. Built specifically for AI coding agents. Some media features (background music, TTS voiceover, avatar video) need a HeyGen CLI sign-in.

Why use Hyperframes on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Hyperframes is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Hyperframes in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/podo/design-agent-skills/tree/main/skills/hyperframes. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Hyperframes?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Hyperframes?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Hyperframes with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Hyperframes AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by podo under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
