  • Markdown instructions

    A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

    AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 8 bundled files

    Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

    Published by SAP on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Aicore Admin Resources AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/SAP/ai-skills-library/tree/main/plugins/aicore-skills/skills/aicore-admin-resources
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/SAP/ai-skills-library.git /tmp/ai-skills-library
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/ai-skills-library/plugins/aicore-skills/skills/aicore-admin-resources .claude/skills/aicore-admin-resources
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Aicore Admin Resources in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Aicore Admin Resources on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Aicore Admin Resources is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

    The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

    Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Rules

  1. Always run check_setup.py first when credentials are unknown or when any script fails with an auth error.
  2. AICORE_BASE_URL must end in /v2 — this is the single most common misconfiguration.
  3. Never display or log the client secret or token value in clear text. Print only what the user needs (e.g. the resource group, not the full config).
  4. X.509 certificate auth is an alternative to client secret — both are supported.

Check Setup

Verifies credentials and prints the active resource group:

bash
uv run scripts/check_setup.py

Expected output on success:

json
{
  "status": "ok",
  "resource_group": "<your-resource-group>",
  "base_url": "https://api.ai.<region>...",
  "auth_url": "https://..."
}

If this fails, read references/SETUP.md for step-by-step credential configuration.

Get Auth Token

Prints a raw Bearer token to stdout — useful for curl testing:

bash
export TOKEN=$(uv run scripts/get_token.py)

Always capture the token into a variable. Never run get_token.py standalone or with 2>&1 — that prints the raw JWT into the conversation. The success message already goes to stderr cleanly; $() capture gives only the bare token.

Configure Credentials

Three options — see references/SETUP.md for the full guide:

OptionCommand / Action
Interactive CLI (recommended)aicore configure
Environment variablesSet AICORE_AUTH_URL, AICORE_CLIENT_ID, AICORE_CLIENT_SECRET, AICORE_BASE_URL, AICORE_RESOURCE_GROUP
Profile config fileCreate ~/.aicore/config.json

Common Errors

ErrorFix
401 UnauthorizedRe-run aicore configure — wrong client_id or secret
404 Not FoundAppend /v2 to AICORE_BASE_URL
Resource group not foundCreate it in AI Core Launchpad or contact admin
No credentials foundSet the required env vars or run aicore configure

Switch Profiles (Multi-Landscape)

When working across multiple landscapes, credentials live as config_<profile>.json files under AICORE_HOME (default: ~/.aicore). Because the shell environment is clean on each agent run, the profile must be set before the agent starts or inline with each command.

Option 1 — set in your shell before starting the agent:

bash
export AICORE_HOME=/path/to/credentials # only needed if not ~/.aicore
export AICORE_PROFILE=<profile>
# then start the agent — it inherits the env vars

Option 2 — source and run in one shell (for agent use):

bash
source scripts/set_profile.sh <profile> && uv run scripts/check_setup.py

Option 3 — inline per command:

bash
AICORE_PROFILE=<profile> uv run scripts/check_setup.py

To list available profiles:

bash
source scripts/set_profile.sh

Manage Resource Groups

bash
# List all resource groups:
uv run scripts/list_resource_groups.py

# Show detailed view (includes labels):
uv run scripts/list_resource_groups.py --response-format detailed

# JSON output:
uv run scripts/list_resource_groups.py --json

# Inspect a single resource group:
uv run scripts/list_resource_groups.py --resource-group-id <id>

# Create a resource group:
uv run scripts/create_resource_group.py --id <id>

# Create with labels (keys must be prefixed ext.ai.sap.com/ or scenarios.ai.sap.com/):
uv run scripts/create_resource_group.py --id <id> --label ext.ai.sap.com/team=data --label ext.ai.sap.com/env=prod

# Update labels (replaces the full label set):
uv run scripts/patch_resource_group.py --id <id> --label ext.ai.sap.com/team=data

# Delete a resource group (--confirm is required):
uv run scripts/delete_resource_group.py --id <id> --confirm

Note: Resource group IDs must be 3–10 lowercase alphanumeric characters (hyphens allowed, not at start/end). Label keys must use the prefix ext.ai.sap.com/ or scenarios.ai.sap.com/ — bare keys like team=data will be rejected with a 400 error. Deletion may return 409 ("Conflicting ongoing action") immediately after creation while provisioning completes — retry after a short wait.

Handoffs

  • Ready to manage deployments? → invoke aicore-lifecycle-management
  • Need to list available models? → invoke genai-hub-foundation-models

When to Load Reference Files

TriggerLoad
Any credential/auth error or setup questionreferences/SETUP.md

Bundled files

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Aicore Admin Resources AI skill do?

Verify and configure SAP AI Core credentials, retrieve auth tokens, and manage resource groups. WHEN: user wants to check if AI Core is set up, configure credentials, get a Bearer token, fix authentication errors, run a setup health check, or list, create, update, or delete resource groups. DO NOT USE FOR: managing deployments — use `aicore-lifecycle-management`; listing foundation models — use `genai-hub-foundation-models`.

Why use Aicore Admin Resources on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Aicore Admin Resources is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Aicore Admin Resources in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/SAP/ai-skills-library/tree/main/plugins/aicore-skills/skills/aicore-admin-resources. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Aicore Admin Resources?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Aicore Admin Resources?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Aicore Admin Resources with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Aicore Admin Resources AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by SAP under the Apache-2.0 license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
