  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 13 bundled files

Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

Published by SerendipityOneInc on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Amazon Market Analysis AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/SerendipityOneInc/ZooData-Skills/tree/main/amazon-market-analysis
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/SerendipityOneInc/ZooData-Skills.git /tmp/ZooData-Skills
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/ZooData-Skills/amazon-market-analysis .claude/skills/amazon-market-analysis
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Amazon Market Analysis in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Amazon Market Analysis on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Amazon Market Analysis is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Respond in the user's language.

Start here

  1. Read and apply references/analysis-contract.md before classifying the request, making an evidence call, or sending user-facing text.
  2. Classify the current question. Route an open-ended "what market/product should I explore?" request to discover; a named category or niche and entry/competition question to evaluate; a change, trend, or watch question to track. A single field or one dated snapshot is a quick lookup. A product/ASIN may support a market question, but a listing audit, competitor war room, or price-setting request belongs to its dedicated skill.
  3. Read references/cli-contract.md and references/reference.md; inspect the selected bundled CLI subcommand's --help. The reference owns production endpoint availability, parameters, response shapes, dates, and credit facts.
  4. Load references/output-rules.md. For a quick lookup, load only references/execution-guide.md sections Authority and routing, Execution mode, Field Identity Gate, Interface Failure Stop Gate, Final Output Gate, and Credential and Credit Failures.
  5. For a full analysis, load the complete references/execution-guide.md, references/evidence-protocols.md, and exactly the applicable scenario: references/scenarios-discover.md, references/scenarios-evaluate.md, or references/scenarios-track.md. The guide owns market stage selection and domain Gate decisions; the scenario owns its evidence and conclusion scope. Reclassify a follow-up from the user's actual question rather than forcing the next story step.
  6. Before interpreting returned market measures, load references/market-metric-semantics.md. Before interpreting seller capital, cost, margin, risk tolerance, or compliance claims, also load references/seller-input-semantics.md.

Source-of-truth boundaries

  • This SKILL.md owns trigger classification, module loading, the responsibility map, and non-negotiable runtime boundaries. It does not define endpoint contracts, workflow procedures, market metric meanings, scenario thresholds, or report templates.
  • references/analysis-contract.md owns the repository-wide rule hierarchy, universal analysis principles and Gates, and user-facing implementation boundary. Every market module may add or narrow domain rules but must not duplicate, weaken, or override it.
  • references/cli-contract.md owns shared CLI invocation, command identity, composite reuse, transport and retry classification, terminal failures, and partial results. It does not select a market scenario or define market fields, interpretation, or output.
  • references/reference.md owns only production API facts: endpoint availability, request and response contracts, category identity, date and sample options, CLI mapping, and credit metadata. It does not decide whether a market is attractive or when to advance a stage.
  • references/execution-guide.md owns the market scenario/stage schema, market-specific Gate decisions, evidence-level conclusion ceilings, and follow-up handoff. It does not redefine the shared analysis contract, API fields, detailed evidence procedures, or scenario-specific capability maps.
  • references/evidence-protocols.md owns shared acquisition, identity matching, comparison, coverage, reconciliation, and evidence reuse inside an active stage. It does not select a stage or render the report.
  • references/market-metric-semantics.md owns the meaning, denominator, time grain, and inference limits of returned market fields. It does not define request parameters, stage transitions, or business verdicts.
  • references/seller-input-semantics.md owns seller-provided inputs, unit-economics calculations, and the limits of capital and compliance evidence. It does not redefine API contracts or independently issue a verdict.
  • references/output-rules.md owns market-specific localized rendering, the report skeleton, confidence labels, provenance, and usage accounting within the shared user-facing boundary. It does not redefine that boundary, select stages, or raise conclusion authority.
  • Scenario files own only their specific entry inputs, capability selection, stage evidence, conclusion authority, and section content. They may narrow an owner rule but cannot restate or override it. scenarios-discover.md owns market and product candidate discovery; scenarios-evaluate.md owns entry assessment; scenarios-track.md owns trend and explicitly opted-in monitoring.
  • {skill_base_dir}/scripts/zoodata.py owns CLI request construction and transport metadata, not analysis policy. README.md is a human-facing package index only and does not set runtime rules.

Non-negotiable boundaries

  • Require ZOODATA_API_KEY; use the credential-only check path before evidence calls. Do not substitute guessed numbers or unrelated public data when the API cannot be used.
  • Use only the bundled {skill_base_dir}/scripts/zoodata.py commands permitted by scripts/allowed-commands.json and documented by references/reference.md.
  • Apply references/evidence-protocols.md before treating a category lookup, market row, candidate set, or comparison as identified and covered.
  • Apply references/market-metric-semantics.md before interpreting a market field or comparing observations, and keep conclusions within the selected scenario's authority.
  • Do not create a watchlist, baseline, schedule, notification, or recurring run without the user's explicit monitoring request. A one-time trend question does not activate monitoring.
  • State credit cost before a broad multi-call scan; use the smallest evidence set needed for the active stage. Seller budget, experience, costs, and risk tolerance remain local interpretation inputs and are not sent as free text to ZooData.

Capabilities and data flow

  • Network: the bundled CLI sends authenticated requests only to https://api.zoodata.ai; it refuses an untrusted ZOODATA_BASE_URL and withholds the bearer key.
  • Execution: Python 3 standard-library shared CLI at {skill_base_dir}/scripts/zoodata.py, restricted by the local command manifest.
  • Local files: reads optional ~/.zoodata/config.json for credentials. No query state is written by default; an explicitly opted-in watch may save non-secret baseline data under ~/.zoodata/market-analysis/ as described by scenarios-track.md.
  • Sent to the API: category paths/IDs, product keywords, ASINs, dates, marketplace, and numeric filters. Seller budget, costs, experience, risk tolerance, and compliance notes remain local.
  • Credits: live endpoint calls consume account credits; the shared CLI's diagnostic check without probe flags does not.

Execution entry

bash
python {skill_base_dir}/scripts/zoodata.py <documented-subcommand> ...

The bundled manifest allows exactly: categories, market, market-profile, market-price-distributions, market-rating-distributions, market-rating-count-distributions, market-listing-age-distributions, market-fulfillment-distributions, market-seller-country-distributions, market-content-distributions, market-top-product-concentrations, market-brand-concentrations, market-seller-concentrations, market-listing-launch-trend, market-history, products, competitors, product, analyze, price-band-overview, price-band-detail, brand-overview, brand-detail, history, market-entry, opportunity-scan, and the diagnostic check.

Bundled files

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Amazon Market Analysis AI skill do?

Analyze Amazon category markets through one connected workflow: discover candidate niches and products, evaluate a named market's entry conditions, and inspect market changes over time. Use for market opportunity discovery, niche selection, category viability, GO/CAUTION/AVOID questions, market structure, subcategory comparison, trend scans, and explicitly requested market monitoring. Requires ZOODATA_API_KEY.

Why use Amazon Market Analysis on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Amazon Market Analysis is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Amazon Market Analysis in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/SerendipityOneInc/ZooData-Skills/tree/main/amazon-market-analysis. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Amazon Market Analysis?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Amazon Market Analysis?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Amazon Market Analysis with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Amazon Market Analysis AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by SerendipityOneInc under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
