  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 6 bundled files

Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

Published by SylphAI-Inc on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Finger Frame Ai AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/SylphAI-Inc/skills.git /tmp/skills
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/skills/skills/finger-frame-ai .claude/skills/finger-frame-ai
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Finger Frame Ai in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Finger Frame Ai on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Finger Frame Ai is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Finger Frame AI

Turn a local video of the two-hand finger-frame gesture into an H.264 MP4 where the area inside the fingers reveals an AI-restyled version of the scene.

The bundled pipeline uses:

  1. Gemini Omni to restyle the existing clip while asking it to preserve timing, motion, framing, pose, and expression.
  2. MediaPipe Hand Landmarker to track both index fingers and thumbs.
  3. FFmpeg/OpenCV to composite the restyled video into the tracked quadrilateral and retain source audio.

When to Use

Trigger when the user asks to:

  • Apply a finger-frame, hand-frame, or fingers-as-a-window video effect.
  • Put an anime, claymation, watercolor, CGI, or custom AI world inside a finger gesture.
  • Run the Finger Frame AI video pipeline on a local clip.

Do not substitute Veo video generation. This effect needs a restyled version of the existing timeline so it can align with hand tracking from the source.

Required Input and Consent

Ask for the absolute local source-video path if it was not supplied.

The Gemini Omni request can take several minutes and may incur Google API charges. Before calling it, clearly state that and obtain confirmation unless the user already authorized the paid generation in the current conversation.

A key with gemini-omni-flash-preview access and quota is required. Never ask the user to paste a key into chat. Ask them to configure it in the terminal that launches AdaL:

bash
export GEMINI_API_KEY='...'

GOOGLE_API_KEY is also supported. Never print, log, commit, or place a key in command arguments.

Instructions

Set <skill> to this skill directory, then perform these steps.

1. Check readiness

bash
python3 <skill>/scripts/process.py --check

This check does not install packages, upload media, or call Gemini. If FFmpeg is missing, tell the user to install ffmpeg and ffprobe; do not attempt privileged installation.

2. Validate the source

Confirm the file exists. The clip should clearly show two hands forming opposing index-and-thumb “L” shapes. Preserve the original file.

Short clips are faster and cheaper. Sources larger than 15 MB are automatically compressed to a temporary 720p H.264 upload copy; the original remains untouched.

3. Generate

Default cyberpunk-styled 3D animated-movie look:

bash
python3 <skill>/scripts/process.py "/absolute/path/to/input.mov"

Custom style:

bash
python3 <skill>/scripts/process.py "/absolute/path/to/input.mov" \
--prompt "Transform the scene into hand-painted watercolor animation while preserving the original motion and framing."

Optional output controls:

bash
python3 <skill>/scripts/process.py input.mp4 \
  --output /absolute/path/to/result.mp4 \
  --keep-stylized

The runner automatically:

  • Creates/reuses <skill>/.venv.
  • Installs bundled Python requirements when missing.
  • Prompts for a hidden, non-persisted key only in an interactive terminal.
  • Creates and cleans up an oversized-source working copy.
  • Runs Gemini Omni restyling and local finger-frame compositing.
  • Deletes the intermediate fully stylized video unless --keep-stylized is set.
  • Writes the default result beside the source as <source>-finger-frame.mp4.

In headless AdaL, always provide the video path and set the key in AdaL's launching environment because hidden prompts require a terminal.

4. Verify and report

After completion, run ffprobe on the final file. Report:

  • Absolute output path
  • Duration
  • Resolution and frame rate
  • Video/audio codecs
  • File size

Do not claim success unless the file exists, is non-empty, and FFmpeg can decode it without errors.

Error Handling

  • HTTP 429 / quota 0: Stop. Ask the user to enable billing/quota or configure another key. Do not retry repeatedly.
  • Authentication failure: Ask the user to replace the locally configured key. Never request it in chat.
  • No tracked frame: Explain that both hands and spread index/thumb shapes must be visible.
  • Large upload still exceeds limit: Ask the user to trim the clip or explicitly choose a larger --max-upload-mb only if their API supports it.
  • Generation drift: Explain that Omni is generative and cannot guarantee mathematical frame-perfect alignment.
  • Interrupted run: Preserve the original and remove only pipeline-created temporary media.

Bundled files

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Finger Frame Ai AI skill do?

Generate a finished cyberpunk-styled finger-frame effect video from a local clip using Gemini Omni restyling, MediaPipe hand tracking, and FFmpeg compositing. Use when someone asks to make, create, restyle, or process a video where a two-hand finger-frame becomes a window into an AI-stylized (default: neon cyberpunk CGI) world.

Why use Finger Frame Ai on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Finger Frame Ai is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Finger Frame Ai in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/SylphAI-Inc/skills/tree/main/skills/finger-frame-ai. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Finger Frame Ai?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Finger Frame Ai?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Finger Frame Ai with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Finger Frame Ai AI skill free?

It is published on GitHub by SylphAI-Inc. Check the repository for licensing terms. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
