DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates

Answers questions about the G-Cloud 15 Lot 3 (Cloud Support) rate card: its DDaT job families, roles and role levels, the pricing rules (maximum UK and offshore day rates, £50 minimum, 7.5-hour day, reduce-only), how the average day rate is scored, what suppliers charge for common role levels, and mapping roles to SFIA skills to describe a team. Not needed when the request is for the Lot 3 service definition or the pricing document; /arckit-uk-gcloud:sdd-lot3 and pricing produce those from the same data.

  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 2 bundled files

Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

Published by tractorjuice on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/tractorjuice/arc-kit/tree/main/plugins/arckit-claude/plugins/uk/gcloud/skills/ddat-rate-card
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/tractorjuice/arc-kit.git /tmp/arc-kit
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/arc-kit/plugins/arckit-claude/plugins/uk/gcloud/skills/ddat-rate-card .claude/skills/tractorjuice-ddat-rate-card-day-rates
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates

Conversational knowledge about the G-Cloud 15 Lot 3 rate card: its job families, roles and role levels, the rules for pricing them, and what suppliers actually charge.

Purpose

On G-Cloud 15, every Lot 3 (Cloud Support) supplier has one rate card, shown in full on each of its Lot 3 services. Suppliers give a maximum day rate, UK and offshore, for each role level they offer, chosen from a fixed list of 9 job families, 58 roles and 222 role levels. The list follows the government's Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) profession capability framework. SFIA rate cards, used on G-Cloud 14, are no longer part of the framework.

When to Use

Activate when users ask about:

  • Which roles and levels the Lot 3 rate card offers
  • What day rate to set for a role level, or what the market charges
  • UK versus offshore rates
  • The pricing rules for Lot 3
  • How a role maps to SFIA skills (still useful for describing a team)

Quick Reference: Rate Card Rules

These come from the G-Cloud 15 pricing schedule (Framework Schedule 3) and How to tender (Attachment 2):

RuleDetail
What you priceA maximum day rate per role level, UK (onshore) and optionally offshore
ScopeOne card per supplier for all its Lot 3 services; every Lot 3 listing shows the whole card. The overlay keeps it in the supplier-wide ARC-000-RATE document, written by /arckit-uk-gcloud:pricing
Day length7.5 hours
Minimum rate£50 a day
Travel and subsistenceIncluded in the rate within the M25
Changing ratesRates can be reduced during the framework, never increased
RiskNo uplift for risk or contingency may be built into a rate
Levels you can't provideLeave them blank
EvaluationLot 3 price is 80% of the score. Your average day rate is every rate you enter, UK and offshore, added up and divided by how many there are (ignoring any under £50 or over £10,000). The lowest average in the tender scores the full 80%; others score in proportion
Where rates goGCA's Digital Platform; the rate card then shows on every Lot 3 listing you have

These are maximum rates; call-off prices are often lower. This overlay doesn't bundle the full benchmark table for all 222 role levels. For a role level not listed here, compare the rate cards on rival Lot 3 listings (/arckit-uk-gcloud:gcloud-competitors), and say how many listings the comparison rests on.

Answering Questions

  1. Name roles and levels exactly as the rate card does: buyers filter on them, and only the listed levels can be priced.
  2. Quote benchmarks as a range with their date and supplier count, and say they are maximum rates from live listings, not contract prices.
  3. One card per supplier: every Lot 3 listing shows the supplier's whole card, and only 2 of the 1,135 suppliers with more than one live Lot 3 service show different cards on different services. Price is scored on the average of every rate on it, UK and offshore alike, so senior levels and offshore rates both move the score. Offer the levels the supplier can staff at that rate across all its Lot 3 services.
  4. Roles outside DDaT (procurement and commercial advisers, trainers): price them at the nearest DDaT role and level by the work and seniority, and say so in the service definition document. Live Lot 3 procurement listings price such people mostly as architects, IT service managers, delivery managers and business analysts.
  5. Use SFIA only to describe skills, not to price: references/sfia-skills.md maps roles to SFIA skill codes and suggests team compositions.

Why use DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/tractorjuice/arc-kit/tree/main/plugins/arckit-claude/plugins/uk/gcloud/skills/ddat-rate-card. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the DDaT Rate Card & Day Rates AI skill free?

It is published on GitHub by tractorjuice. Check the repository for licensing terms. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
