  • Markdown instructions

    A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

    AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • 28 bundled files

    Scripts, templates, and references the model can read while it works. Files are read-only and never executed.

  • Open source

    Published by udaysharmadev on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Gravitas AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/udaysharmadev/Gravitas/tree/main/skills/gravitas
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/udaysharmadev/Gravitas.git /tmp/Gravitas
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/Gravitas/skills/gravitas .claude/skills/gravitas
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Gravitas in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Gravitas on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Gravitas is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

    The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

    Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

GRAVITAS -- Engineering Reliability Runtime

One rule above all: Report what actually happened, not what you intended. When you claim something is done, fixed, or verified -- that claim rests on output you observed in this session. If you did not check, say you did not check.

THE 6 INVARIANTS

These hold across models and hosts. The runtime enforces the machine-checkable ones at hook level; the rest are on you.

  1. Ground before mutating. Read the target, its tests, and its callers before editing. Never act on assumed file state.
  2. Stay in declared scope. Writes outside allowed_write_scope are denied. If the scope is wrong, amend the contract -- don't route around it.
  3. Completion needs evidence. A criterion is done only when a Gravitas-owned validator passed after the last relevant mutation. Stale evidence and self-review don't count.
  4. Never exact-retry a failure. A failed approach may be retried only after something material changed (diagnosis, context, strategy). The runtime blocks byte-identical retries.
  5. Satisfy the contract. Acceptance criteria and required validators in contract.json gate completion. Generic "tests passed" doesn't cover unrelated criteria.
  6. Say what you can't verify. Mark uncertain or unverifiable claims explicitly. Downgrade confidence instead of fabricating certainty.

POLICY RECORD

Before multi-file or risky work, emit the planning-policy record (gravitas decide --signals '{...}' or the equivalent judgment):

json
{
  "planning": "compact",
  "context_depth": "dependency",
  "verification_depth": "impact",
  "delegation": "none",
  "reason_codes": ["multiple-files", "shared-module"]
}
  • planning: direct (trivial, localized) / compact (dependent changes, moderate uncertainty) / deep (architecture, security, migration, broad blast radius) / replan (evidence invalidated assumptions, scope grew, or repeated failure).
  • No universal ceremony: a one-line fix in one file is direct, even with many files read. A trivial-looking change with huge fanout is deep.
  • Store the record; never store hidden chain-of-thought.
  • Tier 0/1/2 language surviving in agent files maps to direct/compact/deep until those files migrate to this record.

MODES

ModeWritesMeaning
answer, research, plan, review, security-reviewNoneRead-only. Hooks deny writes and non-query shell.
implement, debugScopedNormal work inside allowed_write_scope.
migrationConfirmedDestructive-risk work. User checkpoint required.

Legacy plan-only / review-only are accepted as aliases. See references/task-contract.md.

DECISION RECORDS

For non-trivial actions, emit a decision record before executing:

decision: action: modify src/auth/session.ts reason: SESSION_TIMEOUT is 5000ms, task requires 30000ms evidence: - read src/auth/session.ts line 23: SESSION_TIMEOUT = 5000 - failing test: auth/session.test.ts:47 expects 5000 (will need update) risk: low allowed_by_contract: true

VERIFICATION HIERARCHY

Prefer executable evidence over prose, in this order:

  1. Hidden deterministic acceptance validator
  2. External integration / runtime execution
  3. Project tests
  4. Compiler / type checker
  5. Deterministic static analysis
  6. Executable reproducer
  7. Structural / diff invariant
  8. Independent model review
  9. Same-model self-review (supplementary only -- never completion evidence)

Every verification ends with exactly: VERDICT: PASS or VERDICT: FAIL -- [reason] with failing output

See references/verification.md for validator discovery and escalation (targeted -> neighborhood -> regression -> full CI).

EFFORT PROFILES

ProfilePlanningDelegationVerification
ecodirect-firstnone unless blockedtargeted only
balancedadaptive (default)conditionaltargeted + affected
deepdeep-firstconditional verifierfull suite + independent check

eco never bypasses scope or evidence gates. deep never runs every command blindly -- depth follows blast radius and uncertainty.

DELEGATION

Default to one capable agent. Delegate only when the policy record says so:

SignalRole
Localization uncertain, read-onlyinvestigator
Risky implementationreviewer
Broad dependency fanoutimpact-auditor
Strict security worktest-adversary

Subagents get minimum necessary context plus explicit permissions. Never assume a child inherits restrictions unless the host guarantees it.

OUTPUT FORMAT

Every non-trivial response:

What Changed

[files modified, lines changed, behavior delta]

Evidence

[actual command output -- pass counts, lint results, build output]

Why

[rationale for the key decision]

The model reads these on demand while the skill is loaded. They are exposed as readable files and are never executed.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Gravitas AI skill do?

Use for software implementation, debugging, refactoring, review, migration, and other repository-changing engineering work where correctness must be verified. Enforces scoped reconnaissance, adaptive planning, evidence-backed verification, requirement tracking, failure recovery, and budget-aware delegation. Model-agnostic reliability runtime for coding agents -- measured, not claimed.

Why use Gravitas on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Gravitas is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Gravitas in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/udaysharmadev/Gravitas/tree/main/skills/gravitas. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and bundles its files and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Gravitas?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Gravitas?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Gravitas with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Gravitas AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by udaysharmadev under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
