Use this skill when the founder wants to write and publish in their own voice to attract customers: 'content strategy,' 'build in public,' 'write a blog post,' 'founder essay,' 'LinkedIn post,' 'Twitter thread,' 'newsletter,' 'About page,' 'which platform should I post on,' or 'grow an audience.' Picks one platform, finds an angle worth publishing, and writes and edits the piece. Not for search-driven pages (use seo), for sales pages (use landing-page), or for cleaning up existing AI text (use humanize).

  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • Self-contained

Everything the model needs lives in the instructions — no extra files to sync.

  • Open source

Published by whawkinsiv on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Content AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/whawkinsiv/solo-founder-skills/tree/main/skills/content
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/whawkinsiv/solo-founder-skills.git /tmp/solo-founder-skills
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/solo-founder-skills/skills/content .claude/skills/content
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Content in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Content on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Content is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Content

For a solo founder, content is the marketing department. The goal is customers, not followers. Publish what only this founder can write, on one platform, for long enough to work.

Read ABOUT-ME.md first. If it does not exist and the piece must sound like the founder, suggest about-me.

Step 1: Pick one platform

Go where the customers already talk about the problem. Search the problem's keywords on each likely platform (LinkedIn, X, Reddit, YouTube, a niche forum, a newsletter). The one with the most active discussion wins.

One platform, done well, for 3 months before judging. A weak presence on five platforms loses to a strong presence on one.

Step 2: Choose what to write about

Building in public is the cheapest way for a solo founder to earn trust. Use these topics:

  • Progress: what shipped, and the real numbers.
  • Decisions: "A customer asked for X. I said no. Here's why."
  • Failures: what went wrong, and what changed. These get the most engagement.
  • How it was built: the approach, with specifics.
  • The problem itself: something useful to the reader even if the product did not exist.

Keep about 80% of the posts useful on their own and 20% about the product.

Step 3: Pass the angle gate

Before writing, state two things:

  1. The one takeaway, in one sentence.
  2. Why this piece should exist when others already cover the topic: original data, first-person experience, a contrarian view backed by reasons, or a specific audience nobody else writes for.

If you cannot state both, do not write the piece. It would be one more article that nobody needs.

Step 4: Write

  1. Write the opening line first: a specific moment, claim, or number. Not a definition, a question, or "Imagine if." Rewrite it until it is specific.
  2. Outline 3–5 beats in plain words, as what each part does.
  3. Draft fast, in the founder's voice. Do not edit while drafting.
FormatLengthShape
Social post50–300 wordsThe specific thing → why it matters → one takeaway
Build-in-public update200–500 wordsThe number or shipped thing → what was hard → what changed in the founder's view
Blog post800–1,500 wordsHook → the one claim → 2–4 beats, each with a real example → end on the strongest line
Founder essay1,500–3,000 wordsPersonal stake → the tension → working through it → where the founder has landed, open questions allowed
About page300–600 wordsThe problem the founder ran into → why existing options failed them → what they built → who it is for, by name
Newsletter intro100–250 wordsThe one thing on the founder's mind → a light pointer to what is below → one invitation

Step 5: Edit

Three edits catch most problems:

  1. Delete the throat-clearing first paragraph. The piece usually starts on what was the second paragraph.
  2. Replace every "this highlights / underscores / demonstrates" with the specific thing it points at.
  3. End on the strongest line. No recap, no "in conclusion." Move the best line to the end and cut whatever came after it.

Then run humanize on the draft.

Step 6: Publish and point

  • Link to a specific page that matches the post, not the homepage.
  • Adapt one good piece across formats. A blog post becomes a thread, a post, and a newsletter section. Rewrite each one for its platform.
  • Keep a schedule the founder can hold for 3 months, such as three short posts a week, or one long piece. Write in batches.

Rules

  • Use real numbers and real stories only. Never invent a metric, a customer, or an experience.
  • Measure sign-ups and customers from content, not likes. Ask new customers "How did you find us?"
  • Never post an AI draft the founder has not shaped with their own experience. Readers notice.
  • Skip "Excited to announce," vague teasers, and complaints about competitors.

Output

The platform choice and the reason for it, the takeaway and angle for each piece, and the finished pieces ready to post, each with its link.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Content AI skill do?

Use this skill when the founder wants to write and publish in their own voice to attract customers: 'content strategy,' 'build in public,' 'write a blog post,' 'founder essay,' 'LinkedIn post,' 'Twitter thread,' 'newsletter,' 'About page,' 'which platform should I post on,' or 'grow an audience.' Why use Content on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Content is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Content in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/whawkinsiv/solo-founder-skills/tree/main/skills/content. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Content?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Content?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Content with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Content AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by whawkinsiv under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
