  • Markdown instructions

A SKILL.md file the model loads on demand, so it only costs tokens when a request actually matches.

  • Works with any LLM

AI skills are plain Markdown, not provider-specific code, so this works with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model.

  • Self-contained

Everything the model needs lives in the instructions — no extra files to sync.

  • Open source

Published by SpaceZephyr on GitHub. Read the source before you install it.

Installation

Install the Article Batch Illustration AI skill in TypingMind to use it with any LLM, or drop it into another agent that reads SKILL.md.

1

Install in TypingMind

TypingMind installs a skill straight from its GitHub folder — it reads SKILL.md, bundles the resource files, and stores the result locally.

  1. Open the app and go to Plugins → Skills.
  2. Choose "Install from GitHub".
  3. Paste the skill folder URL below and confirm.
    https://github.com/SpaceZephyr/cowrite/tree/main/skills/article-batch-illustration
  4. Enable the skill in any chat where you want it available.
Plugins → Skills → Add skill → From GitHub URL, then paste the folder URL and press Continue.
2

Install in another agent

Any agent that reads the Agent Skills format can use this skill — copy the folder into that agent's skills directory.

Claude Code — .claude/skills
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/SpaceZephyr/cowrite.git /tmp/cowrite
mkdir -p .claude/skills
cp -r /tmp/cowrite/skills/article-batch-illustration .claude/skills/article-batch-illustration
Restart Claude Code after copying so it picks up the new skill.

Use it in TypingMind

Enable Article Batch Illustration in any TypingMind chat and the model takes it from there. Its name and description sit in the system prompt, and the moment a request matches, the model loads the full instructions itself — you never invoke it by hand, and it costs no tokens until it is actually used.

The model loads Article Batch Illustration on its own as soon as a request matches it.

Works with any AI model

AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so Article Batch Illustration is not tied to the model it was written for. Install it once in TypingMind and use it with GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama, or a local model you run yourself — all on your own API keys.

  • Loaded only when it is needed

The system prompt carries just the name and description. The instructions are fetched on the first matching request, so an idle skill costs nothing.

  • Switch models mid-chat

Because the skill is instructions rather than code, changing model does not break it — the next model reads the same SKILL.md.

Skill instructions

This is the SKILL.md content the model loads. Read it before installing — a skill is instructions your model will follow.

Article Batch Illustration for Cowrite

Plan and generate a coherent illustration set for one complete Cowrite Markdown page. This Skill owns article analysis and placement. The bundled image-studio Skill owns prompt assembly and generation through Codex's built-in image_gen tool.

Fixed Cowrite profile

  • Output: PNG, 16:9, 2K
  • Image type: image-studio type D / article logic illustration
  • Generation path: Codex built-in image_gen tool only; one tool call per image
  • Language: Simplified Chinese; technical abbreviations may remain English
  • Count: normally 2-6; use fewer for short articles
  • Placement: after an exact, unique Markdown heading or paragraph anchor
  • Page safety: never rewrite the source article; insert only successful final images

Never use LabNana, Gemini, an API/CLI image generator, an embedded API key, web image search, or another model. If built-in image_gen is unavailable or fails, report the failure and leave the page unchanged.

Phase 1: analyze and select positions

  1. Read the latest Cowrite page through cowrite_get_page.
  2. Ignore frontmatter, references, footnotes, existing delivery links, and existing images whose alt text starts with 文章配图.
  3. Split primarily on H2/H3 headings. For heading-free prose, use major topic transitions.
  4. For every candidate, record:
    • exact unique anchor from the current Markdown;
    • one-sentence core point;
    • 3-5 key concepts;
    • best structure: concept, flow, comparison, hierarchy, relationship, or matrix.
  5. Select only positions where a diagram materially improves comprehension. Do not illustrate every section and do not create decorative filler.
  6. Keep the set between 2 and 6 unless the article is too short. Prefer fewer, stronger images.

Phase 2: establish one visual system

Choose one image-studio style for the whole set based on the article:

  • product/general explanation: minimal or notion
  • data/research: editorial-infographic or scientific
  • technical systems: blueprint
  • education/personal narrative: sketch-notes
  • culture/aesthetics: chinese-elegance

Lock the same background, palette, line weight, typography, grid, corner radius, and icon language across every prompt. Each image must express one point, use generous whitespace, contain at most 1-3 short labels, and contain no logo, watermark, page number, photorealistic filler, or complex gradient.

Phase 3: generate, verify, upload

For each selected position in article order:

  1. Assemble a complete prompt using bundled image-studio's article-logic type, chosen style, base template, and the section's core point.
  2. Repeat the full shared visual identity in every prompt; do not assume session memory.
  3. Call Codex's built-in image_gen once for each distinct image. Express 16:9 composition and 2K-quality intent in every prompt; do not invent CLI flags or call a script.
  4. Inspect every returned image, then copy the accepted saved result into a writable project directory. Verify that the copied file exists, is readable, and is a non-empty raster image. Record failures and continue.
  5. Upload only verified accepted images with cowrite_upload_asset.

Phase 4: revision-safe insertion

  1. Re-read the latest page after generation and upload.
  2. Confirm every exact anchor still exists once. Skip missing or ambiguous anchors.
  3. Insert from the bottommost anchor toward the top so earlier insertions do not disturb later placement.
  4. Use cowrite_insert_after with the latest returned revision each time.
  5. Markdown format: ![文章配图 01:段落标题](url). Number by original article order even though insertion executes in reverse.
  6. On a revision conflict, re-read and retry once. Never replace the full article merely to add images.

Return the number of planned, generated, inserted, skipped, and failed images, plus concise failure reasons.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Article Batch Illustration AI skill do?

Analyze a complete Markdown article, plan a restrained set of illustration positions, and generate consistent article images through Cowrite's bundled image-studio. Use for 整篇配图, 批量配图, 给文章配图, or pasted Cowrite full-page illustration commands.

Why use Article Batch Illustration on TypingMind?

Because you install it once and use it with any model. Article Batch Illustration is plain Markdown rather than provider-specific code, so the same skill runs on GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, or a local model — and you can switch model mid-chat without it breaking. TypingMind runs on your own API keys, so you pay providers directly instead of a per-seat subscription, and your skills and chats stay in your own storage.

How do I install Article Batch Illustration in TypingMind?

Open Plugins → Skills → Install from GitHub in TypingMind and paste https://github.com/SpaceZephyr/cowrite/tree/main/skills/article-batch-illustration. TypingMind reads its SKILL.md and installs it as a skill you can enable per chat.

Which AI models can use Article Batch Illustration?

Any model you connect in TypingMind. AI skills are plain Markdown instructions rather than provider-specific code, so GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and local models can all load this skill when a request matches it.

How many AI models can I use with Article Batch Illustration?

As many as you like. As long as a model supports skills, you can use Article Batch Illustration with it — GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Llama and more — all on TypingMind with your own API keys.

Is the Article Batch Illustration AI skill free?

Yes. It is published on GitHub by SpaceZephyr under the MIT license. You only pay your own AI provider for the tokens you use.

What are AI skills?

An AI skill is a reusable instruction bundle that teaches an AI model how to do one specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a SKILL.md file with a name and description, plus any scripts, templates or reference files the model may need. The model reads the instructions only when your request matches the skill, so an installed skill costs nothing until it is used.

How are AI skills different from plugins or MCP servers?

A plugin or MCP server gives a model new tools to call — code that runs somewhere and returns a result. An AI skill gives the model knowledge and process instead: how to approach a task, which steps to follow, what good output looks like. Skills are plain Markdown, so they need no server, no API key and no runtime, and they work with any model.
